Remember that $60/month Unlimited Voice, Messaging and Data plan that AT&T MVNO H2O Wireless launched two months ago? Well it's no more. The H20 website was updated this week with the plan description changed to "Unlimited Talk, Text, MMS, Data (3GB+) with FREE $20 International Calling". The "(3GB+)" part is new. I don't know what the plus sign stands for but H2O phone support has confirmed that there is now a 3 GB/month hard cap on the $60 plan.
While it sounds like H2O Unlimited customers are losing something they actually aren't. Data on the $60 plan was never really unlimited. Ever since the plan launched users have been reporting having their data cut off for "excessive" use. An honest 3 GB cap is a lot easier for users and support personnel to deal with than an arbitrary hidden cap.
H2O's competitors Red Pocket Mobile and Jolt Mobile recently launched their own $60/ month unlimited plans that included 2 GB of data. So by offering 3 GB, H2O maintains a competitive advantage, at least for now.
