H2O $60 "Unlimited" Plan Now Capped at 3 GB

Remember that $60/month Unlimited Voice, Messaging and Data plan that AT&T MVNO H2O Wireless launched two months ago? Well it's no more. The H20 website was updated this week with the plan description changed to "Unlimited Talk, Text, MMS, Data (3GB+) with FREE $20 International Calling". The "(3GB+)" part is new. I don't know what the plus sign stands for but H2O phone support has confirmed that there is now a 3 GB/month hard cap on the $60 plan.

While it sounds like H2O Unlimited customers are losing something they actually aren't.  Data on the $60 plan was never really unlimited.  Ever since the plan launched users have been reporting having their data cut off for "excessive" use. An honest 3 GB cap is a lot easier for users and support personnel to deal with than an arbitrary hidden cap.

H2O's competitors Red Pocket Mobile and Jolt Mobile recently launched their own $60/ month unlimited plans that included 2 GB of data.  So by offering 3 GB, H2O maintains a competitive advantage, at least for now.

  1. Nothing to do with H20, but I signed a 2 year contract with Sprint, got an Android phone free, and unlimited everything plan, they cut me off after 4 month for excessive usage and roaming (3000 minutes a month)and demanded cancellation fees and full pay for the phone.make a long story short, they sued me, and lost big time, after the judge lectured their lawyers that UNLIMITED in English means just that UNLIMITED!!

  2. H20 has the edge in plans: unlimited talk/text/mms/3gb data, international texting and international calls $20 credit. BUT their CS is so bad that they will probably lose a large minority of those customers to competeing Att mvnos like Jolt Mobile and Air Voice which have better CS even if they offer less for the same amount.

  5. WEll, I am with H20 wireless. I HAVE BEEN WITH THEM FOR 2 MONTHS. LAST MONTH I JOINED WITH THEM. I HAD UNLIMITED EVERYTHING. THERE WAS NO PROBLEM BY THE WAY. THIS MONTH, THE CHANGED THE DATA PLAN TO 2GB, BUT EVRYTHING ELSE WAS SUPPOSE TO BE UNLIMITED STILL. I have an iPhone and basically they cheated me out of money. They said I went over on talk minutes. I had to recharge within 1 week, but I am on the "UNLIMITED" plan. I called them and said, how did this happen if I am on the unlimited plan? Then they start saying,"but there is a limit." I said but you have it advertised "UNLIMITED." NEEDLESS TO SAY, I AM GOING TO LEAVE THEM BEFORE My MINUTES EXPIRE. RIPOFF!! RIPOFF!!!

  6. I've heard of several other people getting their H2O service cut off for using too many minutes on the "Unlimited" plans. As a result I can no longer recommend H2O. Take a look at Jolt Mobile and Red Pocket two AT&T MVNOs that that offer the same unlimited pricing as H2O but without the hassle.

  7. Another thing H20 wireless doesn't offer 3 way calling. I hear Red Pocket does.

  8. h2o is a rip off...i hate the service and it sucks. I was on the $60 price plan with 2gb of data. I would of thought after the 2gb that they would turn your data off and u'll have to use wifi. Not the case, they took my money and discontunie my service because i used over the 2gb. Not my issue u didnt cut my data usage. DO NOT leave ur current plan and get rip off by h20 like me.

  10. Some users are reporting that H2O cut their service off mid-month for talking too much on the unlimited plan and refused to refund any money for the unused portion of the month.

    If true, I'd say that's a scam.

  11. H2O IS DROPING THE BALL !!!!! NOW THEY OFFER 1GB OF WEB FOR THE SAME PRICE $60, AND THEY FIND ANY REASON TO CUT YOUR PHONE OFF, IF YOU TEXT TO MUCH, IF YOU TALK TO MUCH THEY SAY ITS ABUSIVE, AND THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A JOKE , YOU CALL AND ARE ON HOLD FOR 45 MIN AND THEN THEY HANG UP ON YOU. THEY WHERE A GOOD COMPANY UNTIL THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS

  12. Please stop SHOUTING (turn off caps lock). Comments in all caps will be deleted as they are hard to read, ugly and are considered as yelling which is rule.

WHY did they do this? was it the plan all along? we fell for the old bait n switch? or is there to much data being used and THEY HAD TO do something.... what gives????

He said our network is 4x faster and after500 mb, not 2gb like we say in stores, ur speed will go down.. I asked him 4x faster then what?? What r we comparing to?? But he couldn't explain it, just a rip off, I wish h2o
