Verizon MVNO Page Plus Ups $39.95 Plan Data from 20 MB to 100 MB Effective Today

As of today, users who refill or activate Page Plus Cellular's $39.95/month Unlimited Talk n Text Plan will  get 100 MB of included data per month, up from the 20 MB. The change was announced a couple of weeks ago but did not kick in until today.

In the good news, bad news department, the overage rate on the plan, which is charged when a user goes over the monthly limit, is doubling from 10¢/MB to 20¢/MB. I don't really see this as a problem. Even with the higher overage rate anyone using under 180 MB/month will pay less under the new plan than the old one. Seeing as 180 MB costs $55.95 on the new or old $39.95 plan, anyone using that much data would be better off on PagePlus' $55/month plan which includes 1 GB of data.

Page Plus is an MVNO which runs on the Verizon network. Most Verizon postpaid phones including non-LTE Android and Windows Phones that have a clean ESN (not lost, stolen or flagged for non-payment) can be activated on Page Plus. Verizon prepaid phones can't be activated on Page Plus.

As of this writing, Page Plus has not updated their Web page to reflect the higher data allotment and increased overage rate. However, users on Howard Forums and Kitty Forums who refilled today have reported receiving 100 MB and Page Plus dealer Kitty Wireless has confirmed that the change is live
