New PTel Code, Free SIM, Free Shipping and $20 Off 1st Month of Unlimited Plan

T-Mobile MVNO PTel has posted a couple of new discount codes on their Facebook Page.

Use PTELSLICK20 for a free SIM Card, free shipping and $20 Off the 1st month of the $40 or $50 Unlimited Everything Plan.

The other code is PTELWOOT24 which gets you a Free Nokia 1616 or $20 off any other phone along with a free SIM and free shipping with purchase of $40 or $50 Unlimited Plan.

When you think about it either code gives you the same $24.99 discount off any combination purchase of an unlimited plan and a SIM or a phone plus a SIM. I don't know how long these codes are good for but if one doesn't work try the other.

Here's how it works.
  • Go to the PTel Website
  • On the Phones page click the add to cart button for a SIM or any of the phones. Then enter your zip code if prompted.
  • On the next page, click the picture of the SIM card or phone to add it to the card.
  • On the next page, choose the $40 or $50 plan and then click the picture of the topup card on the next page.
  • Then click the checkout button and and enter the code in the coupon code box.
Ptel operates on the T-Mobile native network (no roaming). Ptel SIMs will work with any T-Mobile USA phone or unlocked GSM phone that supports the 1900 Mhz band. The $40 Plan includes unlimited domestic voice minutes, unlimited domestic MMS picture messages, unlimited domestic and international text messages and unlimited data, throttled to 128 Kbps after 250 MB. The$50 Plan is the same except that it includes 2 GB of high speed data before the throttle kicks in.

  1. Is there any reason to choose PTel over Simple Mobile besides this deal? It seems like Simple Mobile has a more established reputation. What has been peoples' experience?

    1. PTel's been around for a long time and has a good reputation for customer service and honest advertising. Simple Mobile is a Tracfone brand with inferior customer support and they are not upfront about the limitations of their unlimited data.

    2. Ptel does not charge taxes on monthly plans. Includes free international texts messages and in my case $0.01/minute calling mexican landlines... plus good deals calling other international countries

  2. Is there any discount retailers for their refills? So far I've only seen Callingmart.

    1. I use WirelessRefill.com Same 3% discount as Callingmart but no $18 minimum order

  3. www.wirelessrefill.com and www.prepaidonline.com I think are the exact same company. I wonder why they have two similar or exact same websites? I have not used either. I think www.callingmart.com has the best price with the best rewards program but they don't have the refills for the new plans for PTEL. The website www.pinzoo.com does and they are almost as cheap overall as www.callingmart.com.

    1. WirelessRefill and PrepaidOnline are the same. When I buy a PIN from WirelessRefill it shows up on my credit card statement as a charge from Prepaidonline.

Are you sure the PlatinumTel PINS from Callingmart can't be used to fund PTel GSM? I haven't heard that one before.

    2. A Ptel CS rep told me that you cannot mix CDMA and GSM PINs, the card PINs.
      I have not tried this.

  4. Is there any offer for real paygo user? Most of free offers are for unlimited plan user.

Do you know which prepaid carrier can activate ptel cdma phone?
I have samsung prevail android phone from ptel site. It was refurbished from boostmobile.
Do I need to flash this phone?

    1. Technically, it should be possible to activate phones from one Sprint MVNO on any other Sprint MVNO provided the phone is not currently active. I've seen reports of PlatinumTel phones being activated by Ting, PrepaYd and EcoMobile.

    2. I brought a Ptel Zio 8600 and Sanyo Pro200 over to Ting.
CS told me they could activate my Sanyo Incognito as well.
They said No to a new Mirro 3810; Sprint system still shows it as a Boost phone (Sprint sold it to Ptel instead).
I will swap it onto my line later.

    3. The Ting BYOD web app gives error messages for all the Ptel phones I tried. Just call CS and ask them to check with Sprint if this happens to you.
Eco said they could activate my Zio before Ting took it. Originally Ting CS told me the 8600 was too old.
The older M6000 Zio used on Cricket will not work on Ting.
The Moto K1m that Ptel sold me will not work on Ting, even though it is on their 'white list.'

    4. I don't think you will see any offer for Real Pay-Go CDMA from Ptel, since they are trying hard to move all their customers to GSM through their promos. If you want to save a little on Real Pay-Go, ACRS also offers small discounts here:

See Featured Products at lower left of the page. The server has been running slow lately for me, so be patient if it does not respond right away.

    5. The PTELSLICK20 code does work with paygo. Just select "Real Paygo GSM" plan instead of the "unlimited" plan and choose a $40 top up.

  5. No, I have not tried using CallingMart for PTEL. The last time that I looked they just had ten and twenty dollar refills. You may be able to use those with any plan but I am not sure and I would not know how. CallingMart does have the new logo for PTEL shown on their website though. PINZOO has the refills for the current plans with PTEL.

    1. I asked on Ptel's Facebook page and they replied in under an hour.

"Dennis Bournique: Can the PlatinumTel CDMA top up PINs sold at callingmart, etc. be used to add money to a PTel GSM account?

PTel Mobile: Dennis, the $10 and $20 Denominations are that site should be compatible."

Dennis Bournique Thanks. could two $20 PINs be used to renew the $40 monthly plan?

PTel Mobile @Dennis, yes. The $40 and $50 plans only look at the amount of airtime you have available on the renewal date."

    2. I asked ACRS, and Germain said the PINs should work on either service.

  6. News Flash: Walmart Family Mobile dropped their price to $40 for the first line, and included 1gb of sharable data at 3G speeds.
    Second line is $35.
It's not prepaid, but it is a good deal.

  7. Is there any way to stack the PTELSLICK20 code to essentially get multiple months on the $40/month plan for $20 each? One can only purchase one SIM + $40 plan combo per transaction on the PTEL webpage. In theory, could I just submit a hundred SIM + $40 plan combo transaction orders and receive 100 months of the $40 plan for $20? I suspect that my dealings would be flagged given the use of the same address and shipping address.

    1. Someone on HowardForums tried that last month and it worked. I don't know if it still does or if PTel closed that loophole.
