Pure TalkUSA Cuts Unlimited Plan Price to $34.95/Month

AT&T MVNO Pure TalkUSA has lowered the price of their Unlimited plan from $37.95 to $34.95 per month. The plan includes unlimited talk and text but no data. The price of Pure Talk's Unlimited Plus+ plan, which includes 600 MB of data as well as unlimited voice and messaging, remains unchanged at $43.95.

While I'm always happy to see price cuts, I'm underwhelmed by this one. Competing AT&T MVNOs Airvoice, Red Pocket, Jolt and H2O all have unlimited talk and text plans for $29.99 or $30/month, five bucks less than Pure Talk.

See AT&T and AT&T MVNOs Compared for a comprehensive list of all AT&T MVNO's plans.

  1. This small price reduction will appeal to some people you don't need data every month. They can upgrade to get 600mb of data when they need it, 100mb more than AirVoice offers and 500mb more than Red Pocket or H20, for only $4 more/month, then switch back. If they need 500mb/month, they save $10/month compared to Red Pocket or H20. Or they can get 700mb for the same price as those MVNOs charge for 500mb.

    1. Last sentence should say that 700mb would cost $4 more than the other two charge for 500mb.

  2. Actually, Air Voice has a $35 unlimited plan that includes 100 Intl text, 100MG data and $10 intl call credit, whoever their international rates are outrages.

  3. To the Airvoice comment above, little do many people know about Vincall.com that works with Airvoice and their rates are much better than Airvoice $10 dollar international call credit. Check it out!!!!
Spot Mobile has the lowest Talk and Text only plan at $24.99/month.
No one has even come close to that yet. The next lowest are the $30/month with H2O, Jolt, and RedPocket.

    1. ChitChat is not unlimited for $10, and adds taxes and large fees. Their coverage map is wrong - no roaming. Their native Sprint network has a small fraction of the coverage on AT&T. Spot has the same small coverage on Tmobile native network.

  4. Have Verizon,PureTalk and RedPocket..PureTalks customer service has been better than anyone's on my case ..Its worth something to me to be able to understand who am talking too..Am guessing its a U.S. based customer service...

    1. I have PureTalk, and get excellent, US-based customer service.
PureTalk CS is somewhat better than PagePlus and Ptel, and is as good as Tmobile and Truphone in my experience.
They are noticeably better than Vmobile CS and MUCH better than Spot, which I just dropped over lack of CS.

  5. I had a technical issue with my phone while on Puretalk (not their fault) MY phone tried sending. Over 7000 texts by itself over the course of a week.. Puretalk didn't charge me..They said unlimited means unlimited...plus found the problem for me...

    1. WOW!!!! Who was getting your 7000 texts?! Not every provider is as understanding and I wonder how the person getting your text faired with his provider.

  6. Of all the Att mvnos, Air Voice and Good to Go have the overall better quality CS. Net10/Tracfone, H20 and Red pocket are the pits. Pure Talk is okay but they have no dealer program . Their Pure Prepaid sister carrier for dealers has nothing but overpriced talk/text.

    1. Their Life Wireless division sells Pay-Go minutes to folks who do not qualify for Lifeline service (they do not take 'government money') for ~5c/min ($12.75 for 250 minutes). That is pretty good for AT&T pay-go (not as good as the AirVoice $10 plan).

Pure Prepaid charges the same rate, $10/130 minutes with rollover, as Pure Talk. Their $5/60 minute rate is better than the basic pay-go rates on Jolt and AirVoice after you include the fees those MVNOs charge each month.

    2. PureTalk/Pure Prepaid/Life charge 3.3c/sms, which is less than H20 (5c), AirVoice (10c), Jolt (10c) and Red Pocket (10c)basic prepaid.

  7. I agree with you about the Redpocket. They have good prices but were very rude to me.When you sign in with them don't pay attention to what plan the website says you have.I had the 29 dollar plan but my account said i had the 39 dollar plan. When i clicked on it to correct it so i wouldn't be charged the 39 the next time around,The system canceled my 1 hour old payment and CS would not help me.I had to buy twice for that month because of their confusing website And rude Customer Service
