Noted Twitter Leakster Claims Boost Mobile Getting iPhone in Q3

Yesterday the @evleaks Twitter account posted the cryptic message "iPhone to Boost Mobile in Q3".

Obviously a Boost iPhone is just a rumor at this point. However @evleaks has made a name for him or herself for correctly predicting phone launches as well as posting accurate specs and photos of phones well before they were released or announced.

evleaks isn't always right, famously posting Galaxy S IV photos that turned out to fakes. Still, evleaks' hits, which include first mention and images of the Nexus 4 and HTC One, Boost's ZTE Warp Sequent, HTC One SV and ZTE Force as well as the Virgin Mobile Kyocera Event and Galaxy Victory, far outnumber the misses.

If the rumor is true, which iPhone or iPhones will Boost be getting? My bet is on the iPhone 4, 4S and 5. The next iPhone, is expected to launch in the 3rd quarter. Sprint has a concept of "hero" devices, flagship phones like the iPhone 5 that are reserved strictly for top dollar post-paid customers. When a hero gets superseded by a new model, Sprint sometimes makes it available on prepaid. Former heros that landed on Boost or Virgin include the iPhone 4S, Galaxy S II and HTC EVO V 4G. A new iPhone would allow Sprint to offer the now "old" iPhone 5 on Boost and/or Virgin.

  1. This would be sweet. Specially now that Boost has LTE. The iphone 5 will work great, not like Net10 or H2O.

    1. Yeah, if you can get service that is.

    2. I currently have the HTC OneSV 4gLTE from Boost and is really fast, most of the time depending on the location I get between
16-23Mbps, so I'm thinking with the Iphone 5 would be a lot better.

  2. The $650 price tag may be a bit steep. Hopefully they can knock a few bucks off of it.

    1. You right, is worth it if you are planing to keep it for a while. Boost has shrinking payments so in 2 years you save a lot of money compared to a 2 year contract. Do the math and you will see.

    2. Virgin knocked $100 off the Apple price for the 4 and 4S, so maybe Boost will too. Since Apple is introducing the 5S this summer, we may get $100 off the 5.

  3. awww man this is a tough one. A part of me wants to believe this, but another part is telling me that Sprint may not do it because of the shrinkage plan. Most likely, if this rumor is true, the 4/4S will be coming to boost, but that's just my gut talking.

  4. Biggest one of them all is price tag. If say the iphone 5 is released on Boost, which gigabyte model is going to be released and how much will it be. Honestly I am more looking foward to the Samsung Galaxy S3 to be released on Boost because of the fact that I am use to the android system and the price tag hopefully will be a tad bit smaller. That's a big IF.

  5. Apparently it seems evleaks info is BS once again since now that Virgin Mobile has the iphone 4, 4S, and 5. And just around the corner, the 5S and 5C will be joining Virgin. I am leaving Boost. They seem to be staying in the stone ages.
