AT&T MVMO Red Pocket Adds More Data and Free International Calling to Monthly Plans

AT&T MVNO Red Pocket Mobile has increased the amount of data included with four of its monthly plans:

The $54.99 plan now includes 1.5 GB per month instead of 1 GB
The $49.99 plan now includes 1 GB per Month instead of 500 MB
The $39.99 plan now includes 500 MB per Month instead of 100 MB
The $29.99 plan now includes 100 MB per Month instead of 10 MB

The $39.99 plan also now includes unlimited free calls to landlines and mobiles in Canada, China and India and to landlines only in the UK and the following cities in Mexico: Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey.

Red Pocket's other plans are unchanged. The table below lists all the current Red Pocket plans.

1 $8.33 is the minimum monthly cost which is achieved by using a $25 top up every 90 days
2 Additional data is available by adding a $9.99 (250 MB) or $19.99 (1 GB) Data Refill PIN. The additional data expires when the current monthly plan expires.

Today's Red Pocket data increases appear to be a reaction to similar changes made recently by other AT&T MVNOs including Airvoice and H2O.  I'm surprised that Red Pocket didn't make any changes to its Pay As You Go plan which is now much more expensive than its competitor's PAYGO plans. 2. I've read that there are Red Pocket dealers. Is there a list of them somewhere? Never seen one.

    1. I haven't seen a Red Pocket dealer list either. Here in San Francisco there are several that show up in a Google search and/or listed in the Yellow Pages.

    2. No dealer list but you can find them as Dennis says by searching google in your area.

    3. I live in Houston and I have seen a few cellular stores that sell Red Pocket. There the neighborhood type of corner cell shops that would sell multiple pre-paid cellular services. In Houston there by Fiesta food stores. So look in your city by Fiesta food stores or Mexican food market shopping centers.

  3. I Googled Red Pocket stores, and I didn't find much. There is one cell store about 200 miles away that supposedly sells their service, but it sounds and looks like a fly-by-night outfit--no website. My guess is that these "dealers" are mainly in the business of selling refills and you wouldn't be able to get much in the way of assistance there if you needed it. Myself, I don't mind doing everything online, but I know there are a lot of people that won't do business with cell companies that don't have retail locations--like my Dad.

  4. The 39.99 plan is interesting since it includes unlimited calls to India. Looking at Red Pocket website, it looks like its to both landlines and Mobiles. Another advantage is they have direct intl calling. Does anyone know if these plans are promotional or time bound? Dont want to switch to them and then have the plans changed :)

I am currently on ST AT&T BYOD. Would you recommend Red Pocket?

    1. The included international calls with the $39.99 plan is not a limited time promotion although with prepaid anything can change at anytime.

I'd rate Red Pocket's customer service and data reliability better than Straight Talk's. One of the better AT&T MVNOs.

    2. For what it's worth, I had some minor issues with my Red Pocket service and I was able to resolve them fairly quickly with a couple of calls and an online chat. Next time, I think I would start with the online chat, which is what finally resolved the problem. CS spoke good English and I got the impression they were trying, even if the problem was not solved instantly. Definitely better than the usual experience with ST CS.
