PagePlus Increasing $55 Plan Data From 2GB to 2.5GB Per Month

Verizon MVNO Page Plus Cellular has notified its dealers that effective Nov. 20, 2013, the amount of data included with The 55 plan will be increased from 2 GB to 2.5 GB per month.

In addition to data, the 55 Plan includes unlimited calling and texting for $55 per month.

Although the message to dealers doesn't say so, I believe this increase will work the same as previous data increases on Page Plus plans. Rather than giving everyone an extra half gig on the effective date, I suspect users will get the added data on their first top up on or after the 20th.

Page Plus offers a wide range of monthly plans as well as a pay as you go plan (all plans are listed below).  In addition to phones sold by Page Plus, most clean-ESN, non-LTE Verizon phones, with the exception of ones sold as Verizon prepaid phones, will work on Page Plus.

  1. Frankly, I think Page Plus' usefulness is slowly eroding, and will continue to do so unless Verizon starts allowing MVNOs access to its LTE network. Without LTE, the selection of phones available for use on Page Plus is extremely limited, mostly to older models, and plus they aren't officially allowed to activate iPhones. And Page Plus is supposed to be great and special because why???

    1. All Verizon MVNOs share the same device limitations and Verizon Prepaid is no better. If you need Verizon coverage and don't want to pay postpaid prices, PagePlus is one of the best options.

    2. Partly great and special because the Verizon network far exceeds any other providers coverage. Yes, you don't get LTE but if you need coverage, no one else is even close. I travel a large part of the Midwest and I know from experience.

  2. For me, the limitation of Page Plus is that it runs on the crippled pre-paid version of the VRZ network. I was moments away from switching to Page Plus when I found out about Selectel, which is similar but has much more extensive "post-paid" VRZ coverage. The choice was clear.

With Selectel, you get postpaid coverage without "postpaid prices".The prices/plans to me are similar to those from Page Plus. The web site for Selectel is very rudimentary, but this has been made up for by the excellent service I have received from their dealer, Freedom Wireless BC (Bay City).

I would imagine that Selectel service will only get better over time. Page Plus has been bought by Movile, right? From what I read in these forums, that makes people pessimistic about the direction of Page Plus service.

  3. Our family uses both PagePlus and Selectel. Pageplus gives us more data for the same price, and the online account with call records is very useful. The Pageplus US-based support is easier for me to understand. Selectel's support building in the Philippines was damaged twice within the last month by storms, so their wait times are longer since other sites and dealer support people are trying to cover. I like Selectel's free roaming but have not needed it yet.

  4. Page plus is in the process of being purchased by Tracfone, in my experience with TF, I hope they don't mess it up.

  5. I wish they would lower the cost of paygo data from 99c/MB to 5c or 10c / MB

  6. And Tracfone is a Movile company, right?

  7. Page plus just starting including a bunch of hidden fees on to my bill. I went to renew the 55 plan and the new total price was 60 dollars and change. They tell us that they aren't raising the price on any of the plans but then out of the blue just start tacking on fees. Im a little disappointed.
