Virgin Mobile One Day Sale Dec 16, $274.99 SIII, $74.99 Galaxy Ring

Today Monday Dec 16, VirginMobileUSA.com is having a one day sale on their top Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy S III. During the sale the S III is priced at $274.99, while supplies last. That's $125 off the phone's regular $399.99 price.

The S III features a 4.8-inch HD screen, 1.5 Ghz dual-core processor,  8-megapixel main camera, 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, 16 GB of internal memory and 2 GB of RAM. It ships with Android  4.1 JellyBean. An upgrade to 4.3 is available for installation though Samsung's Kies PC app.

For something more affordable, the Samsung Galaxy Ring will also be on sale tomorrow for $74.99, half the normal $149.99 price.

The Ring is solid mid-range Android JellyBean phone with a 4 inch HVGA screen, 1.4 Ghz processor, 5MP primary camera with flash and a front facing 1.3MP camera for video chats. It has an amble 4 GB of internal memory and 1 GB of RAM.

I'm not sure exactly when the sale will start but Virgin Mobile's sales typically begin around 7AM Eastern time.

The Galaxy S III and Ring can be used on any of Virgin's Beyond Talk plans, which start at $35/month for unlimited LTE or 3G data (throttled to "3G speeds" after 2.5 GB) , unlimited text and picture messaging and 300 voice minutes.

  3. Is the Galaxy Ring a better deal than the F3 on Virgin? The F3 has a much better battery, but think the ring may be faster.

  4. I consider the F3 a better phone. It should be faster than the Ring as it supports LTE and has a dual-core processor. But the F3 costs more, 114.99 on the Virgin site, $99.99 at Radio Shack and Amazon.

    1. Do use 35orless? If so how much are your "Taxes and fees" and which state are you in? Do you have an LTE phone? If so do you get LTE? 35orless claims LTE is available which seems unlikely as no other T-Mobile MVNO has access to it yet.

  7. Android 4.3 is an Jelly bean update. Not an Kit Kat update. Nowhere on that forum did it say Virgin Mobile's SGS3 was getting a Kit Kat update. But Boost Mobile's SGS3 got a OTA 4.3 update without kies.
