  1. I got a free month of service from them recently. I wanted to start buying my refills from them. However, they require you to have a home landline number in your name, if you are buying refills from them for the 1st time.
I don't understand why they have that requirement. Many people have ditched their landlines.
I decided to buy my refills elsewhere.

    1. This is not true, and Kitty debunks this claim on their blog. I know. They did not require me to have a home landline to buy from them for the first time. If you do not pass their fraud tests, there is usually something wrong with your information or background. Don't blame Kitty; clean up your mess.

    2. I have no mess to clean up Sir/Ma'am. Please refer to the website:
      http://www.kittywireless.com/pageplus/cards.html

It says: If you are new to Kitty Wireless, you will be required to provide a HOME LANDLINE NUMBER in your name or in your family's name ....

Their only exception is if you ported from a postpaid provider.

I ditched my landline more than 10 years ago. I have taken my business to Calling Mart. Kitty does not have the best prices, but I wanted to patronize their business because they give out free services.

    3. "If you knew what I know about fraud, you'd understand why. We load pins for BRAND NEW PEOPLE every single day that don't have landlines. Landlines are just one factor. One of 17 factors." -Kitty on her Forum. If she cannot confirm your identity, she is not going to let you steal from her.

  2. They also denied my refill, yet charged my credit card, took two weeks to fall off, another pp dealer has my business now.

  3. Why not use Callingmart to pay your bill. It would be cheaper.

    1. Callingmart is NOT cheaper if you belong to Kitty's savings club. I get 8% off.
Callingmart gives you 6% at the most, and you have to buy and load every PIN manually.

  4. My credit and background are exemplary yet Kitty demands my home number as well. I have a home number but choose not to give it out for privacy reasons. Kitty lost my business. Every other cellphone company except Kitty is able to address fraud without demanding a customer's number. Let's not forget kitty was banished from Howard Forums.

    1. Your statement "Let's not forget.." with no context is probably just designed to mislead people.
Kitty was banned because she upset other dealers by being too helpful. Plus, they were jealous of her automated services. Almost every time she posted, another dealer complained. So the mods banned her because they did not want to lose dealer ad revenue. The excuse was that she was promoting, but she did far less than other dealers who advertised on HoFo. Just a bad situation. Painful to read. Bad PagePlus mods back then, which was four years ago. It did not hurt Kitty. She is the biggest PagePlus dealer with the best services, discounts and customer service. You are missing out, not Kitty.

    2. Kitty does not do credit checks. Your credit does not matter when it comes to fraud.

  5. Kitty will also approve new PIN customers who use Verified by VISA or Mastercard Securecode. That is not hard to get for most credit cards, but a few banks do not participate.

  6. As a very active member of Hofo I can assure you Kitty was not banned for being helpful. A permanent ban is extremely rare at Hofo an requires Howard's approval. I will let this community form it's own opinions about Kitty. Two points we can all agree on 1) there are other places to refill that are less expensive than Kitty 2) other dealers are able to keep fraud in check without making customers jump through hoops.

    1. If you are a small dealer, it is cheaper to just eat your 3-4% fraud as a cost of selling pins. If you are a huge volume dealer like Kitty, 3-4% adds up to real money. PagePlus does not even sell the $80 pins - they let the dealers assume the risk. So Kitty should just accept large losses from people she can't ID, so they will not be inconvenienced? Most people have never run a business that faced this, and have no idea how large problem fraud is in pin sales. I don't see any suggestions here on a better way.
BTW, Callingmart rejects some new customer orders, too. But I am pretty sure we will not hear if that happens to people rejected by Kitty.

  7. More FUD. Where can we Autopay PagePlus pins for more than an 8% discount, and have them loaded automatically every month? With a guarantee that if anything goes wrong, the dealer will pay to fix it. Give us a name.
