T-Mobile USA has revealed it's launch plans for Nokia Lumia 635, the successor to the top selling Nokia Lumia 521.
The 635 is a significant upgrade over the 521. It features LTE support, a 4.5 inch 480 x 854 pixel Gorilla Glass screen, quad-core 1.2 Ghz Snapdragon 400 processor and a 5MP autofocus camera. It runs the just released Windows Phone OS 8.1.
The T-Mobile Prepaid Lumia 635 will debut July 5 on HSN. No price was given but the MetroPCs's 635, which is launching July 18, will have a promotional launch price of $99.
T-Mobile also announced that the Nokia Lumia 521 and Nokia Lumia 925 will get Windows 8.1 via an over the air update "later this year". New features in 8.1 include Cortana, a virtual assistant similar to the iPhone's Siri, the ability to set Start Screen wallpapers and a pull down notification center similar to Android's which shows new emails, texts, voicemails etc.
