Boost Mobile Getting the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Oct 17

Sprint's Boost Mobile Website has been teasing us for the last two and a half weeks that the iPhone 6 is coming to the prepaid carrier "soon". Today the official Boost Mobile Twitter account gave us the date, tweeting out "iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are coming to Boost Mobile on October 17th".

As far as I know, this is the first time that Boost has mentioned that it is getting the iPhone 6 Plus in addition to the iPhone 6. We still don't know the price, but if Boost sticks to its past practice of selling its iPhones for $100 less than the unlocked versions in the Apple Store, we can expect to see the basic 16GB versions at $549.99 for the iPhone 6 and $649.99 for the 6 Plus. Add $100 to these prices for the 64GB model or $200 for the 128GB variant.

If you haven't been following Apple lately, the iPhone 6  has a 4.7 inch screen and the 6 Plus ventures in phablet territory with a 5.5 inch screen. So both are larger than last year's iPhone 6 which had a 4 inch screen. There are lots of other differences compared with the 5s. This year's iPhones are thinner and have smoothly rounded contours instead of the sharp edges that have been an Apple trademark since the iPhone 4. There's also a faster processor, the screens have higher resolutions and there's Apple Pay, Cupertino's answer to Google Wallet, which lets you buy things by waving you iPhone over the NFC powered terminals found in some stores.

    1. Actually it all depends on your location, my iPhone 5s on Boost works better than my parents ATT and T-mobile.

    2. A direct comparison of AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint over the entire United States shows that overall coverage of the native Sprint network is weak. In some areas, it may be better than others, I don't dispute that.

    1. Doesn't seem worth buying an iPhone any more. $550 to $850 for a stinking piece of plastic on a network in my area that sucks really bad. How does Boost, Virgin, and Sprint hold up I wonder.

  5. At this point, I would not buy a Sprint based phone. Just wait until March when their unlock policy is introduced. They claim that any phone introduced/unveiled before then won't be unlock-able.
