Cricket $100 Credit For Porting From T-Mobile, MetroPCS Extended until Nov.2

AT&T's Cricket Wireless has extend its promotion giving T-Mobile and MetroPCS customers a $100 credit for porting their numbers to Cricket. The promo, which had been scheduled to expire Oct 19, has been extended to Nov 2, 2014. In addition, the offer is now available to Cincinnati Bell wireless subscribers who port to Cricket. Cincinnati Bell is selling its spectrum to Verizon and ending wireless service in early 2015.

The rules for getting the credit are unchanged. The customer must port into a Cricket plan priced at $40 or higher. There's no limit to the number lines a customer can port and the credit can be combined with Cricket's Group Save program, a family-style plan that offers discounts of $10 for 2nd line, $30 for 3 lines, $60 for 4 lines and $100 for five lines. With Group Save five lines on the Cricket $40 "Basic" plan cost $100/month or $20 per line. Individual users can get a $5/month discount for signing up for autopay. The auto pay discount is not available with Group Save.

There's no form to fill out to get the credit which is automatically applied to the users account approximately 5 days before the end of their first month of service. The account must be active to recieve the credit which can only be used to pay for Cricket service.

The Cricket plans that are available with the $100 Credit are:
Plan NameMonthly PriceHi-Speed Data Before Throttling 1Allowed devices
Basic$40 ($35 with autopay)1 GBAny
Smart$50 ($45 with autopay)3 GBAny
Pro$60 ($55 with autopay)10 GBAny
High-Speed data is throttled to a maximum of 8 Mbps for LTE data and 4 Mbps for HSPA+. After the high-speed data cap is reached speed is further throttled to about 128 Kbps. Additional high-speed data is available for $10 for 1GB good for a month.

Plan prices include all taxes and fees, even sales taxes. However there's a $25 per line fee to activate in store, which includes a SIM. Online activation is free but SIMs are $10 online.

  1. If you live in an area where tmobile is decent this is a no go. The 30 dollar Tmo account give 5GB of high speed data a month which is much better than worring about the throttle.

    2. Tmobile's coverage doesn't cut it for most people who work, and 100 minutes is an anti social a kid's plan.

    1. Get a T-Mobile SIM ($10 or less from T-Mobile, Amazon or eBay) and port to T-Mobile then get a Cricket SIM ($10 online from Cricket or buy from an eBay seller that offers discounted SIMS with free airtime) and port to Cricket.

      GoPhones work on Cricket.

    1. For what it is worth, the deal will be over by the time you get the credit, according to their terms (~25 days to receive it).

    2. As long as you port in by 11/2 you should receive the credit.

  6. Can anybody confirm that Net10 is included, I. Am currently using net10 with a pink sim card, I'd love to bypass porting to T-Mobile first and port straight to cricket, I was on net10 with an at&t sim card and have had a net10 tmobile sim for about a week, thanks

    1. I can confirm that the official rules for the rebate say T-Mobile, MetroPCS and Cincinnati Bell, nothing about NET10. If you port from NET10 and get the rebate consider yourself lucky. I wouldn't count on it.

  7. I've had net10 with the Tmobile sim card for about a week, prior to that I had Net10 at&t sim card, can anybody confirm if I can skip porting to Tmobile and go straight to Cricket and qualify for the credit, do you think that cricket knows a number is now a tmobile -via net10 that was a prior at&t /net10 number? Thanks!

    1. Porting to TMo for a day is not a big deal. Getting the TMo sim is probably the hardest part.

    1. I've seen HF posts saying that they don't give credits on weekends. Check again Monday afternoon.

Also, there is an exception about family plans, where Cricket states that the credit might come in the second month.
