Updated 2014 In-Store Black Friday Deal Tracker

Updated 11/28 8:30 PM PT: Added sale ending times.

Black Friday (Nov 28) is just a few hours away. Leaked scans of just about all the big box stores' newspaper ad inserts have leaked and the Prepaid Phone News Black Friday Deal Tracer is essentially complete. The tracker lists all known in-store Thanksgiving and Black Friday prepaid mobile phone deals along with detailed information about store hours.

Here are what I consider to be the best deals with where and when they will go on ale:

  • AT&T Nokia Lumia $39.99 (reg $99.99 at the Microsoft (11/24), BestBuy (5PM Thur) and RadioShack (8 AM Fri)
  • Boost Mobile LG Volt $39.99 (reg $179.99) at Kmart (7 PM Thur) and RadioShack (8 AM Fri)

Many stores, as well as online only merchants like Amazon.com will be having online pre-Black Friday sales starting about about a week before Black Friday followed by online Black Friday sales, Cyber Monday sales and Cyber Week sales. See PrepaidPhoneNews' 2014 Online Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deal Tracker for all the best online deals.

If you don't want  to wait or need a phone right now see Prepaid Phones on Sale This Week Nov 9 - Nov 15 for the best current deals.

  2. At Target, use your Target Red Credit Card and/or Target Red Debit Card and save an additional 5%.

Don't like/don't qualify for the Target Red Card(s), get the new American Express/Target Redbird Prepaid Card, and you save an additional 5% on your Target purchases (normal Target Red Card exclusions apply to the new Redbird card).

    1. Pay cash with TARGET. I do since their lax policies shared credit card info with hackers.

      Delete
    2. Personally, I've had no issues. On the other hand, Albertsons and Home Depot are two retailers that I patronize, and both of those chains were hacked this year, in addition to a few others.

As I recall, a few financial institutions were also hacked this year, JP Morgan Chase comes to mind, but I don't bank with them.

Soon, every retailer will have been hacked, and there will be nowhere left to shop using any form of plastic, and as I write this, I have no intention of carrying wads of cash around to make purchases. I would be a sitting Target...no pun intended.

To the previous poster, when shopping, I prefer to use different flavors of credit cards for cash back and point accural programs. I do not use point-of-sale debit cards (with the Master Card and/or Visa logo) as debit cards (by regulation) do not offer the same protections as a credit card does.

At the very least, all consumers should review their own credit reports no less than yearly.

Once per year at no charge, you can use the annualcreditreport.com web site to obtain a credit report from each of thee major credit bureaus. Unfortunately, each of the credit bureaus charges a fee if you would like your credit score.

The neat part is Black Friday will be here soon, and we'll be busting down the doors to get those "must have" deals, or do like my neighbor does, he pays someone on Task Rabbit to stand in line early for him and his family. He thinks it's worth it, I think he's nuts...

    1. I was so close to leaving Virgin for Cricket.... but then Cricket bungled the Gamestop rollout, and also I have heard nothing but horror stories about the NEW Cricket (no different from the old).

What would make Virgin Mobile "Beyond Talk" perfect would be if they offered the $5 roaming add-on option that is in "Custom" to "Beyond Talk" as well. I wonder if it is technically possible?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't. BestBuy's product listing doesn't specify the model number or which bands are supported.

      Delete
    2. The difference being dual the d503 is not dual sim and the 5306 is , but the 5306 does not have band 1700, at least that's what I can tell, not sure though.

      Delete
    3. To add to the confusion there is also a D5322 model, all supposedly support LTE, BUT, only one or two support U.S LTE, that's why I hate unlocked phones, there is never any clarification on which one is which.

  6. Just a word of warning . . . It appears that the LG Ultimate 2 which was advertised by Best Buy as being a TracFone was incorrect. The LG Ultimate 2 at Best Buy only works on NET10. Best Buy has corrected that error on their website. Here's the link:

    2. My experience with Cricket has been good. I am using my old att phone. I pay $35 per month. Service is just as good as att - at least where I use it in NY. No billing issuss at all. The one thing that annoyed me was that i had to change my autopay CC (get 5 off from 40 per month with CC) and i had to call them. It could not ve done on line - i was chatting with tech support. However it seems u can make those changes now. I notice that my coverage is waaaaay better, at least in NY than.post paid sprint and tmobile. Sure fast data is 500megs (but 1 gig while on promo) only. I rather have reliability than tons of data that doesn't work. I think if u personally have problems with any company then u feel is all bad. I do not think it is the case always. that is the advantage of prepaid, try it and if it doesn't work you try somebody else.
