MetroPCS World Calling Add-On Now Includes International Roaming and Calls To Mobile Phones

T-Mobile's MetroPCS recently enhanced their $10/month World Calling add-on to include 200 minutes/month of calling to mobile numbers in 43 countries. It also added limited international roaming with 200 minutes of calling and 200 texts per month available while roaming in 21 countries.

As before, the World Calling add-on also provides unlimited international calls from the US to landlines in over 75 countries and unlimited international text messaging while in the US.

There's no change to MetroPCS' two Mexico calling add-ons:

The $10/month Mexico Calling plan includes: unlimited calling to Mexican landlines, 1000 minutes of calling to Mexican mobile phones, unlimited international text messaging while in the US, 200 roaming minutes and 200 roaming texts when in Mexico
The $5/month Mexico Calling bundle includes:unlimited calls to landlines in over 200 "destinations" in Mexico, unlimited international texting to "select" destinations.
All the international add-ons are only available with Metro's $50 and $60 plans. Without an add-on you can only make international calls on MetroPCS by using a prepaid calling card or a service like Google Voice.

The $5/month unlimited International Text Messaging add-on, which used to be available with all plans, is now only offered with the $15/month Tablet plan. That means that customers on the $40 and $25 plans no longer have any way of sending international texts.

The Table below lists all of MetroPCS' current plans:

  1. In the year since the merger, MetroPCS has come a long way. I decided to try the LG Optimus F60 because of Metro's 49.99 special and it actually gets a 4G signal in my apartment. I daresay I'm impressed with it and might port my number from VZW Allset back to Metro. I really like unlimited data.

    1. I have that phone and I LOVE it! The only bummer is that it doesn't have a whole lot of storage, so an SD card was mandatory. Other than that, I couldn't be happier. I just wish MetroPCS' customer service was bearable.

  2. Except for their $60 plan MetroPCS' plans don't seem all that competitive any more.

  3. MetroPCS plans are very competitive because they include voice-SMS roaming and un-throttled LTE. Who matches or beats them at their price points?

  4. And even in areas that don't have strong LTE, there's always HSPA+ which on TMo is fast enough to stream HD

  5. If you have an Android or IOs, download a free App fpr VOip. You will save more and not be limited to certain countries.

    1. While roaming internationally dial as if you were using a local SIM.
To call Mexico from Mexico you dial the normal 10 digit Mexican number like a local would.
To call the US from Mexico dial 001 (or +1) followed by the 10 digit US phone number

    1. Call Metro and ask them to reset her service. This happened to me with Ptel once. Fixed in less than one minute.

  14. They did reset her phone they wanted her to shut off her phone completely then start it up again.. We did this twice already and still nothing.

    1. It's either a network issue or, less likely, a defective phone. You need to work with MetroPCS to get it resolved. Ask them to reset her account provisioning, not the phone.

    1. If MetroPCS customer support can't get it working, your husband could buy a Mexican SIM, if his phone is unlocked or a Mexican phone if it's not. Or, if he has WiFi he could download and use Hangouts or another VOIP app to make and receive calls over WiFi

  25. Metropcs screen-it and international text messaging, I bought a bundle yesterday and can't find how to set it up?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. As far as I know there's nothing to set up.

International texts to supported countries should just work.

Screen-it should display the caller's name in addition to their number, even if the number isn't in your contacts.

If the features aren't working you need to contract MetroPCS.
