Amazon App Giveaway - 26 Paid Apps For Free

The Amazon Appstore is running another Android app giveaway. For a limited tine, 26 paid apps and games (a $105 value) are free from Amazon. The list includes a number of popular titles including Plants vs. Zombies, Oxford Spanish Dictionary,  Wolfram|Alpha, Runtastic Pro, FlightRadar24 Pro - Kindle Edition, Prince of Persia Classic, Easy Tether Pro, CityMaps2Go Pro and A Better Camera Unlocked. The full list is here Apps & Games : Free App of the Day Bundle. The regular price of these apps ranges from 99¢ to $34.99.

To get in on the free apps you need to have the Amazon Appstore installed on your phone. Get it from Amazon.com by clicking here using the browser on your phone. Follow the prompts to "Allow Unknown Sources" and finish the installation. Then go back to the list of free apps with your phone browser and start downloading. Or you can "purchase" the free apps using the PC web version of the Amazon Appstore and then launch the Amazon Appstore on your phone and tap the Menu icon in the top left and then tap My Apps and your purchases will show up on the Cloud tab. If you don't see them, tap the Refresh icon in the top right. Amazon has detailed help pages for their Appstore here.

  1. I downloaded a few of these apps on the last "giveaway". They were full of ads and trialware - play a few levels then inapp purchase to unlock more. I wasn't impressed as these weren't really full apps.

    1. I downloaded Root Explorer, Easy Tether and PicShop from the last couple of Amazon giveaways and they seem to be complete and ad-free.

    2. The TuneIn radio app. full paid version, is often given away in this deal. It's quite impressive. However, I don't see it this time.

    1. It should be. Amazon has a lot to lose if malware is found in their appstore.

  4. Amazon doesn't screen apps for spyware. They may or may not screen for viruses. Free Amazon apps frequently contain spyware. Amazon does list permissions. How accurate they are is unknown.
