Amazon Black Friday Sale Starts This Friday But No Prepaid Phones Yet

With Black Friday barely a week away, prepaid phone bargain seekers thoughts naturally turn to Amazon.com, the biggest US online vendor. Today Amazon announced their plans for Black Friday.

This year, Amazon's deals will start a full week before Black Friday and that's this week. Beginning this Friday, November 20, Amazon will put new items on sale at www.amazon.com/blackfriday as often as every five minutes every day through Saturday Nov 28. Ten special Deals of the Day will go live at Midnight Thanksgiving and 10 more sometime Black Friday. Prime members will get access to the majority of these deals 30 minutes ahead of the rest of us.

An additional 150 Lightning Deals will be available only through the Amazon Android, Fire OS and iOS apps.
These deals will appear on a '“App Only Deals” tab in the app and will be released daily between 3 PM PT and 11 PM PT from Thanksgiving through Wednesday, December 9. This year, the Amazon apps will also have a new “Watch A Deal” feature that lets you choose the deals you're interested in and receive a notification on your mobile device when one of yoyr chosen deals goes live.

Amazon released a list of some of the Black Friday deals today. The bad news is that there are no mobile phones on the list. The good news is that it's not a full list of every Amazon Black Friday deal this year. In prior years Amazon has matched or beaten  many of the best Black Friday prepaid phone deals from other sellers. I hope they do the same this year.

PrepaidPhoneNews will begin publishing a continuously updated Online Black Friday Deal Tracker post tomorrow. It will list all online Black Friday prepaid and unlocked phone deals, including Amazon's. For in store Black Friday deals see our Updated: 2015 Black Friday Deal Tracker

  1. Do StraightTalk phones come with pre-installed sim cards, or can you use TracFone 4GLTE-sim card in a new StraightTalk phone?

    1. Straight Talk phones come with Straight Talk SIMs. A TracFone SIM is unlikely to work in a Stright Talk phone as the phones are usually locked to the SIM they come with.

  2. No thanks. It sounds like they didn't learn anything from their Prime Day belly flop.
