T-Mobile's 99¢ Prepaid SIM Deal is Back

T-Mobile USA has once again put prepaid SIMs on sale for 99¢, instead of the usual $15. To order and get the 99¢ price, click here and enter the promo code SIM99 at checkout. The 99¢ deal is good through Jan 19.

The kits include a nano SIM with mini and micro adapters and an activation code. T-Mobile no longer sells individual SIMs in mini and micro sizes online although they are still available at T-Mobile stores.

SIM adapters have a history of damaging phones so be careful if your phone uses a micro or mini SIM. Better yet, activate the nano SIM online without ever putting it in your phone. Then take SIM and phone to a T-Mobile store and ask them to transfer your service to the proper size SIM for your phone.

The activation code in the kit is needed to activate a new line of service on any T-Mobile prepaid phone plan. That includes the $30/month 5 GB of data, unlimited messaging and 100 minutes plan, which is only available with new online activations.

Without the activation code, T-Mobile prepaid SIMs can be used as replacement SIMs for any T-Mobile account, postpaid or prepaid. Just call T-Mobile support and ask them to switch your account to the new SIM ID.  Prepaid SIMs can also be used to activate any T-Mobile Prepaid or postpaid Mobile Internet plan including T-Mobile's Free Data for Life plan which comes with 200 MB of data per month for free with a supported tablet.

There's a limit 3 SIMs per order and 5 SIMS over a period of 30 days.

    1. We get it. You like to resell things. You don't have to tell us on every thread.

  2. You can still activate the sim without the code by calling the customer service toll free line. I did with no problem.

  4. Not sure if it matters to your readers, but I've been on Tmobile prepaid for about 15 months on the $30 plan and have been almost 100% satisfied with it, I noticed that i had been building up to something called "smartphone equality" on my account page, every month It would say I earned another month, I was almost at 12 months when I was running low on high speed Data, so I called to have my plan renewed early which it did, But apparently T-Mobile System treats an early renewal as a new account because it erased my equity count Down. I needed to renew my Data again the next month and it set me back at zero again. Do you know anything about this?

    1. Customers qualify by paying for their wireless service on-time for 12 straight months. That’s it. Every single customer with a monthly voice plan can qualify to get the Un-carrier’s best device pricing and financing − including $0 down on the hottest smartphones with no interest and no credit check. Even prepaid customers can get the same deals with the wildly popular Simple Choice postpaid plan. And loyal customers get immediate credit for their relationship with T-Mobile − which means many existing customers will immediately be eligible when Smartphone Equality kicked off on January 25th, 2015.

    1. The free plan is supposed to be for tablets only. Any device that T-Mobile identifies as a phone will be blocked. Some phones fall through the cracks and do work, mostly obscure off-band Chinese phones, although the 1st gen Moto G LTE supposedly works.

    1. The MetroPCS Tablet plan only works on a MetroPCS branded tablet. BYOD is not supported.

A Mifi will work with any T-Mobile mobile btradband plan except the free 200 MB tablet only plan.

  7. "Just call T-Mobile support and ask them to switch your account to the new SIM ID." Another option is to do it online on T-Mobile My Account. Much quicker.
