RingPlus Celebrates Season of Hearts With New Valentine's Promotion

ringplus-valentines-promotion
A few days ago, RingPlus announced their latest Legends 5 promotion-- the Althea Gibson and the Giuseppe Farina free plans. Now in time for Valentine's Day, they are offering a new promotion that will coincide with the two other free plans. These new plans include:

Queen of Hearts Free Plan

At $0/month, you can get 1,000 minutes, 1,000 texts, and 650 MB of 4G LTE data plus tethering. The plan also includes Unlimited RingPlus-to-RingPlus calling. The good thing about this plan is that current RingPlus members may change to this plan at any time.

This plan requires a $10 Top Up for overages.

King of Hearts Free Plan

Another plan offered for Valentine's Day is the King of Hearts free plan which comes with 1,350 minutes, 1,350 texts, and 1,350 MB of 4G LTE data plus additional $5 per month for tethering. This $0/month plan can only be activated once a Queen of Hearts plan is active on the account. RingPlus refers to an account as your login email with all your active lines and phone numbers. This plan must be added as a new line.

A $20 Top Up is required to cover overages.

Ace of Hearts Free Plan

The third $0/month plan RingPlus has for their Valentine's Promo includes 2,000 minutes, 2,000 texts, and 2,000 MB of 4G LTE data. Tethering may be added for $8 per month. Just like the King of Hearts plan, this free plan comes with an activation condition. A King of Hearts plan should be active on the account before the Ace of Hearts plan may be obtained as a new line.

A $25 Top Up  is required to cover overages.

Conditions

RingPlus has some conditions for their Valentine's Promo as well as for the Legends 5 promotion during this special event:

  • If one of the Valentine's promotion plans is cancelled or downgraded to a lower plan, the two higher plans will be moved a step back. What this means is that if you cancel a Queen of Hearts, the King of Hearts plan will turn to Queen of Hearts and the Ace of Hearts becomes the King of Hearts plan. Meanwhile, if you cancel a King of Hearts, Ace of Hearts turns to King of Hearts while the Queen of Hearts plan will remain the same.
  • If you have an Althea Gibson or Giuseppe Farina plan activated and you want to activate a Valentine's promotion plan, you can take advantage of the early bird special and immediately add an Ace of Hearts plan. But if you cancel either of the Legends 5 promotion plans, the Ace of Hearts plan will also be downgraded to the Queen of Hearts plan.
  • Only one King, Queen and Ace of Hearts per account is allowed.

Which of these plans sound appealing to you most?

    1. It was getting ridiculous months ago. Now it's... I can't even think of a word for it.

  2. What are the cheapest phones you can activate with RingPlus atm?

    1. As another RingPlus customer, my candid advice is to have a phone that passes their BYOSP checker in hand as soon as the promotion opens and try to sign up as soon as possible. Any temporary inconvenience is worth it, I'm on my 4th month of inexpensive service for example.

RingPlus is promoting this as their best deal ever and it's common for their promotions to sell out before they're over. According to their official announcement on their own forum this one opens for new customers as well as the entire current user base at 12 Noon Pacific tomorrow.

    2. I used an antique Kyocera Rio from Virgin Mobile.

    3. Correction: I used a Rave K10 Royale, not a Rio on RingPlus.

    4. Boost and Virgin Mobile have some $15 flip phones that should work. The Sprint Prepaid Moto E for $40 at BestBuy is the cheapest smartphone I'd recommend.

  3. @Anonymous(2nd User), well I got the LG Tribute for 39.99 from KMart back on 07Dec2015. It was a Sprint Prepaid model. From what I've read Dennis here has stated that some BoostMobile/Sprint Prepaid smartphones will work-the key thing is to activate with RingPlus FIRST before turning on the smartphone. You can find the ESN/MEID on the box cover(this way the box is NOT opened & if the check fails, you could return item.)

    1. I just bought Moto E at Best Buy for $39.99 today, checked the MEID on a display model laptop in the store. Brought it home and activated on R+ online before taking it out of the box. Worked flawlessly.

  4. you really got to wonder about this company and when the whole thing will change into something else?just how much revenue can they have with just these little small overages?

  5. My question is are the paid plans also ads supported.

  6. Aren't these plans temporary and they make you switch at some point?

  7. Good deals just get more & more complicated. Why not just charge money? Even $15 per month for Ace or King. Or do a multi-month plus refurb G2 or Sprint Moto X (my two fave used fones for these guys) to really hook people and get a $150 all at once from people. Or Just cause its a free plan doesnt mean you have to sound like a snake oil salesman to sell it. It always sounds so shady.

    1. Then don't subscribe if you can't comprehend the plan--seems simple to me!

    2. There are pay plans. The plan most like Ace is Miro with unlimited talk+text + 2GB data for $19.99/month, and still needs a $15 top-up for overages.

  8. Simple and effective like their Voicemail System. If ADHD was a company...

  9. People will complain no matter what companies offer free. Bloggers think they are professional critics, apparently.

  10. I have a Boost Coast flip on RP, and I never seem to hear ads, just music. I changed the station in the dashboard. I might swap a line currently on VIP Pepper to Queen of Hearts, almost triple the allotments. I don't see the downside, $10 top up is nothing.

    1. The music is the ad. If you press 5 while it's playing you get a text with a link to buy the song.

    2. "The music is the ad. If you press 5 while it's playing you get a text with a link to buy the song."

Ya, but they used to have actual commercial ads playing back when they reintroduced the free Pepper Plan and in the last several months I have noticed there have been no commercial ads playing at all and I am in CA.
This does not bode well for the success of the company since ad revenue is supposed to subsidize these plans.

So like you posted above, enjoy it while it lasts. Not so sure it is going to last all that long though.

    3. re: Not lasting long? It's been over 3 years..where you been?
RP isn't new. The entitled millennials are what's new--they add to the daily whine and support backlog.

  11. Why not just fix your voicemail system? Cant even hear your outgoing message after recording it? If your budget is so tight that you need ringplus...please save yourself the frustration of having your friends complain to you...just toggle it off completely. But really, I know you are listening R.P., just go and fix the damn thing. I wonder how many people just want their friends and co-workers to be able to leave a basic voice-message & simply port-out every month because you have a horrendous concept of customer-service.

  12. I searched: ringplus for dummies, and it returned Support: RingPlus and RingPlus Mobile details in the top 5 hits. I could make some money writing RingPlus for Dummies, but the people who need that book the most wouldn't bother to read it, or concentrate long enough when they did to understand anything.
    Hopeless.

  13. I upgraded from VIP Pepper to Queen of Hearts and didn't even have to top up. Still have the $4 or so on the account. Very pleased! It's a great glove box phone, I use it now and then when I've left my daily driver somewhere and need to make a call. Cannot complain. Coverage is fine in these parts.

  14. Classic Ring Plus (anonymous) response - redirection rather than actual customer service. See why I left you, your energy is in the wrong places. As a company, there are more impoetant things than BOGO or Freebies or complicated, ever-changing fish hook advertising

  16. Funny. I don't see the Queen of Hearts available for my daughter's plan. Anyhoo, I suspect something shady has been going on unless my daughter's iPhone uses data differently then my Android. She has topped up twice this month already. Granted, it's still cheaper then other prepaid services. She now has 18 hours left till her new month allotment begins. I doubt Shelley make it without being charged another top up, lol. I find it weird that she burns through so much data when she is mostly on Wifi and has the phone on airplane mode because see doesn't want to use data. I could swear I use my phone more than her on Pageplus and I have a struggle to use all of my data in a month. Something is very fishy around here.

    1. The Queen of Hearts promotion ended 2/14.

Check how much data your daughter's phone has used and which apps have been using it:
Android: Settings > Data Manager or Data use
      iOS: Settings > Cellular
