t-mobile
As you may have heard by now, PTel (along with its sub-brand Giv Mobile) is shuting down its services this week. Along with their closure, they have announced that they will be accommodating port-out requests until February 5. If you are a PTel subscriber and you still want to continue using your number, there are already a number of deals from other carriers that you can choose from. You can check out this link for your options.

Along with PTel's closure, T-Mobile has announced an exclusive offer for its customers. You can switch to T-Mobile's Simply Prepaid plan and have the option to enjoy unlimited talk and text plans along with 4G LTE data for as low as $40 per month. The plans they offer under this exclusive treat include:

  • $25 per month - Includes unlimited talk and text
  • $40 per month - Includes unlimited talk, text and data up to 3GB of LTE speeds
  • $50 per month - Includes unlimited talk, text and data up to 5GB of LTE speeds
  • $60 per month - Includes unlimited talk, text and data up to 10GB of LTE speeds
And if you make the switch now, T-Mobile is giving you a free SIM Starter Kit for your chosen monthly service AND your first month of service for free! This offer is only available at T-Mobile stores, not online.

If you're interested in porting your PTel number to T-Mobile, you only have until Feb. 12, 2016 to take advantage of this exciting offer. Learn more about it from their website. 1. of course this "deal"comes with paying post paid taxes and fees . I guess the free month is supposed to be the promo
not sure how many prepaid customers that people would want to go the post paid route.

    1. The Simply Prepaid plans that PTel customers are being offered a free month on are not postpaid plans and only normal point of sale taxes like sales tax are charged on them.

    2. Smartphone Equity, which allows you to finance a phone without a credit check after 12 months of on-time payments, does require converting to a postpaid plan. But Smartphone Equity has nothing to do with the the free month and free SIM offer for PTel customers.

    3. Yeah. Looks like the free month is the promo part. I just bought my mother and brother (who were reletively light users on PTel) two Sprint Prepaid Moto E phones and put them on RingPlus as they live in a strong Sprint area. They've been on the RingPlus free plans since two days after the PTel shutdown was announced here and couldn't be happier.

  3. Unlike Ptel and Solavei, many MVNOs like Ultra and Consumer Cellular are thriving on lower wholesale prices from carriers. It's NOT doom and gloom out there.
