Deal Alert: Unlocked 2015 Moto X Pure Edition 16 GB $239, 64 GB $319

2015 Motorola Moto X Pure Edition
With the 2016 models on the way, Motorola seems to be closing out its remaining stock of the unlocked 2015 XT1575 Moto X Pure Edition phone.  The closeout sale is through various retailers rather than on the Motorola website itself.

Amazon and B&H have the 16 GB Moto X PE for $239.00 and the 64 GB model for $319.00. B&H also includes a free 32 or 64 GB SD card   The phones are also on sale at Best Buy $239.99 and $319.99 respectively.  For some reason the 32 GB variant of the Moto X is still $349.00 or $349.99 at all three retailers.

The Moto X Pure Edition is one of the few truly universal phones that works on all four US national networks. It's also a true flagship device with a 5.7" Quad HD (1440x2560) IPS screen, Snapdragon 808 SOC, 3 GB of RAM, NFC, 21 MP main and 5 MP front cameras, a microSD slot and non-removable 3000 mAh battery with fast charging. It supports the following bands for worldwide compatibility:

  • GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
  • UMTS/HSPA+ (850, 900, 1700 (AWS),1900, 2100 MHz)

    2. Too bad it is for students only...

    3. Only the Unidays 10% code is for students only and I was able to get it with my alumni email.

I also went for the 64GB with smartwatch for $400 less 10% plus tax came to $386. I also will get 4.4% cash back (~$16) from topcashback and I plan to sell the watch. I hope to get my net cost down to around $220 - $230, so less than this deal for the 16GB.

I'm sure in the coming weeks the 32GB will be available for around $250.

Yea the 10% off would be nice but your still getting an amazing deal, i had purchased the 32gb x pure and a moto 360 sport at bestbuy for $628 total, sent both back and reordered for the promo on Motorola's site for 437. Saved almost 200!

  5. Why would you buy this when you can get the Nexus 5X 16gb for $199 (32GB $249) with 1 month of project fi.

Because Nexus 5X only has a measly 2GB RAM.

Nexus 5X has a Much smaller screen, & only 1080p at that. Whereas Moto X Pure is 1440p display at 5.7"

Nexus 5X video camera is only good when on tripod or standing still. Moto X Pure's stabilization is good even while walking.

Moto X Pure 21 Megapixels is superior during daytime as one can crop & crop & crop photo for much better details in editing. Nexus 5X has an edge for night time/ low light shots.

Moto X Pure has DUAL Front facing speakers, whereas Nexus 5X has only ONE functioning front speaker.

Moto X Pure also works on project fi's T-Mobile & Sprint bands, just not for wifi calls.

..... but if you prefer smaller phone size then that'll trump. But Google ain't "promising" any updates for Nexus 5X & 6P beyond "September-2017" which is odd cuz normally we'd expect Android 'O' around October 2017. They are having problems with seamless updates on upcoming Android 'N' for 5X (2GB RAM) & 6P.

To each his own. Best Wishes.
