T-Mobile announced Wednesday that it will be adding two new budget devices to their lineup: the Samsung Galaxy Tab E and the Samsung Galaxy On5 smartphone. Both devices are set to launch this month, though not on the same day. The Galaxy Tab E for T-Mobile will be released on June 22, and the Galaxy On5 on June 29. Those who prefer T-Mobile’s prepaid brand MetroPCS can get their hands on the Galaxy On5 sooner, with the MetroPCS devices set to come out on June 27.

Samsung Galaxy On5 Specs

T-Mobile’s Galaxy On5 is meant for ease of use and at $140 or $5.83 a month for 24 months (0% down), it also keeps costs low. With MetroPCS you can get it at $129, but will cost only $59 after an instant $70 rebate. It’s a great deal considering the phone’s current features:

  • 5-inch (1,280 x 720) HD display
  • 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos processor with 1.5GB of RAM
  • 8GB of internal storage, 4.3GB of which is available to the user, plus microSD card slot that enables users to expand storage up to 128GB
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop OS
  • 8-megapixel camera with LED flash at the back and a 5-megapixel camera at the front
  • Samsung’s TouchWiz Software
  • 2,600mAh battery
Samsung Galaxy Tab E Specs

Like the Galaxy On5, T-Mobile’s Galaxy Tab E is quite affordable at just $240, or $10 a month for 24 months with $0 down. It also features the same 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos processor, Android 6.0 software, and 5-megapixel back and 2-megapixel front cameras. It has an 8-inch (1,280 x 800) display, a 5,000mAh battery and 16GB of internal storage that’s expandable via a microSD card slot.

MetroPCS Prepaid Monthly Plans

For those interested in MetroPCS, monthly plans start at $30 a month and includes unlimited calls, text and data with a maximum 1GB speed. There are also $40, $50 and $60 plans with the same offerings, but higher data speeds of up to 3GB, 5GB and unlimited, unthrottled data, respectively.

Apart from the Galaxy On5, MetroPCS subscribers can expect more to come soon. It’s been confirmed that the brand will also be launching the LG Stylo 2 Plus. A free Folio Case awaits those who purchase the phone and pre-register on or before June 26.

  1. Galaxy On launched in China 2015 October. It's old device that Android 5.1 loaded. Also, it's devised Chinese style, I don't understand why T-Mobile brings to the Unted States.

  7. 8GB of internal storage with 4.3GB available to user is a deal killer. Insall fb, then messenger(because you're forced to) and you're down to 3gb. You'll be seeing the "insufficient storage to update app" in a week.

    1. REALLY? You can't afford ~$8 for a 32GB micro-SD card?

    2. You shouldn't even need a memory card, at least not at the $150 price point.
