Just last month, Verizon Wireless improved its prepaid plans by adding in calls to Mexico and Canada. In another attempt to lure customers to switch to their service, Verizon has launched a new promotion. The new Verizon prepaid switch promotion promises to give you $100 off on selected smartphones when you bring your number to the carrier.

If you're interested in this offer, here are the smartphones that are eligible for the Verizon prepaid switch promotion:
  • Apple iPhone 6 - now only $449 after the $100 switch promo
  • Apple iPhone SE - now only $299 after the $100 switch promo
  • HTC Desire 526 - now only $20 after the $100 switch promo
  • HTC Desire 626 - now only $92 after the $100 switch promo
  • Kyocera Brigadier - now only $299 after the $100 switch promo
  • LG G Vista - now only $92 after the $100 switch promo
  • LG K4 LTE - now only $20 after the $100 switch promo

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 5 - now only $596 after the $100 switch promo
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 - now only $572 after the $100 switch promo
Each of these devices require a $45 or $60 monthly smartphone plan activation. These two plans include the following:
  • $45 monthly smartphone plan - unlimited talk, unlimited messaging, 3GB of 4G LTE data (2GB of data without Auto Pay), and unlimited text to Mexico and Canada
  • $60 monthly smartphone plan - unlimited talk, unlimited messaging, 6GB of 4G LTE data (5GB of data without Auto Pay), and unlimited call and text to Mexico and Canada
Apart from the $100 off on select smartphones, Verizon is offering 50% off on its prepaid 4G LTE activation kit with $45 monthly Unlimited Plan and 1GB of data. Instead of the regular $49.99 price, you'll only have to pay $24.99. This is a web only offer.

  1. I seem to recall Fran Shammo saying prepaid doesn't matter. I guess this is a tacit acknowledgement that prepaid does in fact matter.

  2. Is data a hard cap or throttled after the allotted 4G LTE is used up?

  3. Hard cap, Verizon does not believe in throttled data. At least not yet.

  4. Add more data or take $5 off the $45 & $60 plan

  5. Sorry, Verizon.

    That's just not good enough.

Bump it up to $250 and cut plan prices by 50%, then we'll talk.

  7. Verizon prepaid is such a waste of money, go with Total Wireless instead. You don't even get VoLTE and you're paying more for less data.

  9. Phones show up with "Online Exclusive - Free Activation" when added to cart. I'm assuming the prepaid sim activation kit is included?

  10. Just make the plans UNLIMITED, everybody else has unlimited data except for Verizon prepaid. Throttled data or not just make it unlimited!!!!! (Their plans have gotten better from years past but they are being stingy with the data)

  11. Great deal for a Droid Turbo, just no desire to pay rediculous prices for capped data and smug dirt bag executives.
