MetroPCS Kickstarts New Promotion for July

For about 3 years now, T-Mobile has been revolutionizing the smartphone industry by coming up with different services that aim to retain customer satisfaction. The company attributes a major part of their success to its prepaid arm, MetroPCS. In the first quarter of this year alone, T-Mo was able to break a new record for its best prepaid performance as over they were able to sign over 800,000 new customers. Adding to this achievement, T-Mobile boasts of being the only wireless carrier to achieve positive growth for 11 quarters in a row for both the prepaid and postpaid market.

With this achievement, MetroPCS is offering a promotion for families throughout the month of July. The one-two combo promo offers are:

  • Bring your number to MetroPCS and get up to $60 off any smartphone.
  • Adding a line to an existing family plan for only $25 per month. This includes 5GB of LTE data a month as long as your current plan has the same or more data allotment.
To compare, MetroPCS' promotion will help a family of four save more than $180 a year of service compared with Sprint's Better Choice plan or with Cricket. And when you make the switch,  everyone in the family will be entitled to a free smartphone. Not to mention, MetroPCS customers enjoy more high-speed data allotment, 20 GB per month compared with 12 GB/month on Sprint. And considering MetroPCS operates on T-Mobile's LTE network found nationwide, it has more reach.

And if that's not all, MetroPCS has teamed up with three UFC fighters namely Ronda Rousey, Anthony Pettis, and Paige VanZant to star in their latest commercials. You can catch these on Friday, July 8th as it debuts on Fox during the finale of The Ultimate Fighter.

  1. Will this include the new iPhones and does a number ported from google voice count? I already have two phones with metropcs on an existing family plan with the main phone on the $50 plan.

    1. As I read the offer it does apply to iPhones and toGoogle Voice numbers.

The port in promotion offers $60 off the price of any phone for any ported numbers except numbers that currently are activated on the T-Mobile network.

  2. Is Metro PCS with all the talk/text roaming coverage better than AT&T native only coverage? Im wondering if Im better off with Pure talkUSA and their $29.00 plan as opposed to the $30.00 Metro PCS plan?

    1. It really depends on where you go but I think you have a better overall chance of being able to make calls with AT&T at any arbitrarily spot in the country than with T-Mobile, even with roaming. But there also places like Winemucka NV where AT&T has no coverage at all and T-Mobile has native coverage including LTE.

  3. HaHa, Dennis... "Winemucka" might fit better in a limerick, but it's actually "Winnemucca" :-)

  4. The previous deal with 2 lines for $60 plus $30 for each additional line upto 4 was the better deal. It came with 6gb instead of 5gb. 3 lines would've cost $90 instead of $100, while 4 lines would've cost $120 instead of $125. The only downside 6gb was only for port ins. They should've of made that their family plan. This deal is not so great.

    1. I think the second MetroPCS is the evil twin of the first one.

    2. The comparison should be between MetroPCS and Sprint's Better Choice postpaid plan. I've cirrected the typo.

  6. Another multi-line deal? Pass.

Just give me 5GB for $25 on one line with no strings attached, then we'll talk.

  7. does metropcs allow byod on the 30$ plan? With BYOD on the second family line, will 25$ plan as per this discount be available?
