The iPhone 7 frenzy is far from over. Adding to the list of carriers and MVNOs where you can purchase either the iPhone 7 or the iPhone 7 Plus is Cricket Wireless, AT&T's own prepaid brand. The two devices were added online a few days ago where it sold out over the weekend. Cricket has plans to launch the phones through select Cricket company and authorized retail stores by tomorrow so there's still some hope on getting your hands on one of these devices.

As for further details, Cricket enlists the 32GB and 128GB variant for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 7 is priced at $649.99 (32GB) and $749.99 (128GB). Meanwhile, the iPhone 7 Plus costs $769.99 (32GB) and $869.99 (128GB). The MVNO's iPhone 7 and 7 Plus pricing matches the ones released by MetroPCS while Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile sells the iPhone 7 at $100 cheaper than this price. a

Cricket offers the black and rose gold iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with 32GB variant while the 128GB iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are available in jet black. These devices can be purchased without a contract but may be paired with a monthly service plan that starts at $30 per month.

  1. What is the point in buying an iphone from a prepaid carrier if you get neither financing nor a discount?

    1. "What is the point in buying an iphone"

      There isn't one.

      There never was.

    2. Because most people aren't cellphone nerds.

    3. Cheaper monthly bill, you pay more up front, save money long term when your not paying postpaid bills.

    4. Let me rephrase the question: what is the benefit of buying a full priced phone from cricket over just buying an unlocked one from apple?

    5. There is no point! Cricket and Metropcs are making people realize how much they are overpaying to subsidize iphone!! Once they migrate to Cricket/Metropcs, they will never buy an iphone on a hidden subsidy. Who will buy an iphone if they had to pay $700 up front? Not many people, especially if they are on cheap cricket plan!!

  2. "The iPhone 7 frenzy is far from over."

    This is true.

It was over a while ago, and we're far from that time.

We're now entering the age of Android.

    1. The frenzy period is over, but that's largely because smartphones just aren't as exciting as they were a few years ago, when they still had some novelty value. Apple's still raking in ~90% of the profits in the entire sector, and if their share of the total smartphone market is going down, that's largely because people who used to buy dumbphones and feature phones are now buying low-end Android sets. Apple's doing as well as ever among high-end phones.

(Though to me, in an era of quality $200 phones it seems ridiculous to drop $650 on a Galaxy S7 or $750 on an iPhone.)

    2. That's all true, and that's why iPhone 5s are 200 for those who want an iPhone, but will not pay 700 for one.
Personally I wouldn't spend more then 250 for a phone outright, maybe a hair more if it's something truly worth it.

  3. Yes prepaid MVNO like Cricket wireless and Metropcs are the best advocate for Android ! Who can beat the amazing deal like ZTE Zmax pro for just $40 (with number port in), or bunch of different free android phones available? More and more, everyone who is looking to save on their monthly cellular bill will be using Cricket or Metropcs and also Android phones. Buying another $700 iphone is pointless for people who want to downsize their cell phone bills.

  4. Don't buy your iPhone 7 or 7 Plus from Cricket, AT&T, T-Mobile or MetroPCS if you want to be able to use it on Verizon or Sprint in the future.
Unlike the iPhone 6S models, unlocked GSM iPhone 7 models do NOT support CDMA carriers. If you're going to pay full price, buy the Verizon model (or Sprint, if you know you can get it unlocked in the future).
