Now At Boost Dealers: Free Phones With a Free Month of Service

Free Samsung Galaxy
Boost Mobile dealers are running a couple of promotions that give customers up to five free Android smartphones or deep discounts on iPhones when they switch from another non-Sprint affiliated carrier.

There are two ways to get a free phone:

1) Before January 27, port a number that has not been on Sprint network for at least the past month and activate the ported number on Boost's $50/month Unlimited Gig plan. Customers porting a number get a free phone of their choice from the following list:

  • Alcatel Dawn (reg $39.99)
  • LG K3 (reg $49.99)
  • Kyocera Hydro Reach (reg $49.99)
  • LG Tribute 5 (reg $79.99)
  • Samsung Galaxy J3 (reg $149.99)
  • LG Tribute HD (reg $79.99)

2) Add a new line to an existing Boost Unlimited Gig plan account before January 9, 2017, and get a free month of service in addition to any of the free phones listed above. Add-on Unlimited Gig plan lines are $30 each per month starting with 2nd month. Add-on lines must be port-ins or new activations to get the free phone and free month.

You can have up to five lines per account. The two promotions can be combined so if you port a number and add four lines you get five free phones, four with a free month of services and only the primary line pays $50 for the first month. Enrolling in Autopay will give you a $5 discount on primary line and all the add-on plans. Downloading the Boost Dealz App will give another $5 credit on the account for being exposed to ads.

Also for customers porting a lime to Boost, the iPhone 5S is available for $99.99, the iPhone 6 CPO for $149.99, and the iPhone 7 for $499.99. Other phones offered to switchers at discounted prices include the LG Stylo 2 for $69.99, ZTE Warp 7 for $29.99 and the LG X Power for $49.99.

The free phone, free month of service promotion is only available at Boost Mobile stores and independent Boost Mobile dealers (not available in all states). It's not available online or at national retailers like Best Buy, Target or Walmart. Click here to find Boost stores and dealers.

Updated 2/2/17 to indicate that the free month of service for add-on lines offer ends 1/9/17.

  2. Based on the entitlement I see in these threads I won't be surprised when I see people complaining about only getting one free phone and not all 6.

    1. Entitlement? What entitlement? What on earth are you talking about? This is a business offering free phones to new customers. That's called the free market. Tax payers aren't paying for it, a private entity is. Just because businesses couldn't or wouldn't offer the promotions they do today doesn't mean anyone feels a sense of entitlement. Markets change and businesses have to adapt. You've obviously never run a business. If you did, you would understand that. The world is always changing and businesses (and people) that change with it grow and thrive. The ones that aren't smart enough to do so, suffer the consequences while they reminisce about the so-called good old days. This is nothing new. This has always been the way of the world. Anyone can live in the past if they want. But people who begrudge those who choose to live in the here and now only show their envy.

    3. "Dec 16 5:53 anonymous"
Did you even read the OP?
I think the poster was saying that someone would probably complain that one phone wasn't a good enough offer.
You need to read before you start flailing your fingers on your keyboard.

  3. "Enrolling in Autopay will give you a $5 discount on [the] primary line and all the add-on plans."

I believe that the $5 autopay discount is only available on the first line and not available to the additional lines. Unless Boost has changed their policies again.

    1. Now, if you could offer full data roaming on Verizon, Boost might be worth consideration.

But without that, Boost remains a distant back-of-pack option, only working well in a small part of the US.

  7. Do they have any free-with-port-in phones on the $30 plan?

  10. I went to three Boost dealers. None of them knew about the promotional pricing on iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 CPO, LG Stylo 2 or LG X Power.

All three said only the primary line gets the autopay discount on a family plan.

Does anyone have a link I could show a dealer? Thanks.

    1. Welcome to the world of Boost. In my experience, I have known a lot more about Boost than the Boost store operators I have talked to.

And mostly just from reading this forum.

    2. The dealer was right. Only the first line gets $5 off for using autopay. The additional lines don't get any discount.

    1. The free month and free phone promos were announced in the Dec 1 issue of Sprint Prepaid Groups's "The Beat" internal dealer newsletter. Some dealers may choose not to participate in promos.

  16. Since I'm on Virgin Mobile I guess I'm not eligible for the free phones, even though I want 2 lines. Virgin Mobile uses the Sprint network. Dang it!
