Red Pocket Mobile Starts Offering GSMT Mango Plans

Since it started, MVNO Mango Mobile has been showcasing its prepaid service plan options through its own website. The MVNO had been running under T-Mobile's network. As Red Pocket Mobile's product, the MVNO's GSMT plans are now also available through Red Pocket's own website.

Earlier today, Red Pocket unveiled some changes to the GSMT Mango Plans. Prior to this announcement, there were only three monthly options available under the GSMT Mango plans. Back in December, a new $30 plan was added to the roster. A fifth plan option has recently been added onto the selection. With this, Red Pocket's GSMT Mango plan options are now:

  • $19 Fresh Mango - includes unlimited talk and global text, 100 MB of 4G LTE data and $10 international credit
  • $19 Ripe Mango - includes 250 minutes talk, unlimited global text, 1GB of 4G LTE data and $10 international credit
  • $25 Sweet Mango - includes unlimited talk and global text, 1GB of 4G LTE data and $20 international credit
  • $30 Juicy Mango - includes unlimited talk and global text, 2GB of 4G LTE data and $30 international credit
  • $40 Red Mango - includes unlimited talk and global text,3GB of 4G LTE data and $40 international credit

All plans include hard capped data, which means that once you use up your data allotment for the month, you'll have to wait for the next month's cycle to use data. If you want to enjoy data continuously, you can add $5 per month for unlimited 2G data. Another option is to get extra high speed data with these prices:
  • $2 for 100 MB
  • $6 for 500 MB (formerly $5 for 400 MB)
  • $10 for 1GB
  • $25 for 2.5GB
  • $50 for 5GB
Ripe Mango plan users may also add extra minutes at $2 per 100 minutes.

    3. The article reports on two changes to Mango Mobilee.

1)) Mango has always been powered my Red Pocket but until recently it was sold exclusively by SDI Distributors, the parent company of Black Mobile, and had its own website at https://www.mymangomobile.com/ . That URL now redirects to https://goredpocket.com/plans#gsmtmango . It looks like SDI is no longer involved with Mango.
      2) The $30 amd $40 plans are new.

See Mango Mobile, New T-Mobile MVNO With Unlimited Talk and Text For 1 GB For $25/Month | Prepaid Phone News for information about the original Mango Mobile by SDI Distributors.

    4. SDI/Black Mobile also owns Red Pocket Mobile, they purchased it several months ago

    5. I've seen the claim that SDI had acquired RPM before. In September, I asked an officer of SDI if SDI had acquired RPM and he said they had not. If you have any evidence otherwise I'd love to see it.

  2. Oh, Ripe is 250 minutes and 1 GB data, while Fresh is unlimited minutes and 100 MB data, but both are the same price. Interesting trade-off.

  5. Typo????

What is the sense of fresh when ripe offers more for the same price?

"$19 Fresh Mango - includes unlimited talk and global text, 100 MB of 4G LTE data and $10 international credit
$19 Ripe Mango - includes unlimited talk and global text, 1GB of 4G LTE data and $10 international credit "

  7. Ripe plan is mildly interesting. It's like a sibling of T-Mobile's "Walmart" plan.

  8. Can minutes be added to the ripe plan if all used up?
