Earlier today, Sprint announced availability of the LG Stylo 3. The device was originally introduced in January at CES but it is only today that the phone has arrived in US shores. Interested individuals may get the phone from Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile, two prepaid brands owned by Sprint.

In other countries, the Stylo 3 is known as Stylus 3. It comes with a 5.7-inch HD touchscreen display, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a removable 3,200 mAh battery. The Boost and Virgin Mobile version of the phone uses a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of expandable memory. Another version of the device is available in some markets with a MediaTek MT6750 processor with 3GB of RAM and the same memory configuration. Upon release, the device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS and comes with a fingerprint sensor. There is also a stylus available complete with stylus-specific software features that allow you to write, doodle, sketch, or annotate.

The LG Stylo 3 is priced at $179.99 (plus tax). You can choose to get the device from either Boost Mobile or Virgin Mobile together with a plan.

Boost Mobile

You can pair your new phone with Boost Mobile's Unlimited Gigs plan which comes with unlimited talk, text and optimized streaming videos, gaming and music; and unlimited nationwide 4G LTE data. This plan costs $50 per month. You can also add a second line for only $30 per month, up to five lines.

Apart from the Unlimited Gigs plan, you can go with Auto-Re-Boost for $30 per month to give you 2GB of 4G LTE high-speed data and unlimited talk, text and data. You can add 1GB of 4G LTE data for an additional $5 per month or $10 per month for 2GB of 4G LTE data. Extra lines are at $30 per month per line.

Virgin Mobile

Another option is to get the phone with Virgin Mobile's DATA LOVE or DATA LOVE+ plans. Under the DATA LOVE plan, you get unlimited talk and text and unlimited data up to 5GB at 4G LTE data for only $35 per month. As for the DATA LOVE+ plan, you get unlimited talk and text and unlimited data of up to 10GB at 4G LTE data for only $45 per month. Both plans include data-free music streaming with apps like Pandora, iHeartRadio, 8tracks, Slacker Radio, and Napster.

If you wish to add more high-speed data, you can purchase a Data Pack at $5 for 1GB per month and $10 for 2GB per month.

    Sorry 'bout that!
But seriously, I wouldn't mind seeing this phone at HSN / QVC in a TracFone bundle with one year service for $179.

  10. I'll wait for Cricket's. Too bad the 3GB RAM won't make it to the U.S. since it has a MediaTek chip.

    1. If it's anything like the Stylo 2, Cricket's version will probably be the same. Metro usually gets the higher specced models. Unless you are a Cricket customer already, you might want to see what Metro offers when or if they get it.

    2. Oh I wonder if Cricket make low spec for Stylo 3 like a Xpower. They will put 1.5GB of ram and 8GB of rom haha
