New Boost Dealer Promotions: Every Other Month Free, Free Phones for Switchers and More

Sprint's Boost Mobile launched some new dealer-only promotions this week.  With one exception, a new referal program, these deals are only available at Boost Authorized dealers, not online or at national retailers like Best Buy, Walmart or Target. In addition, not all offers are available in all markets and not all Boost dealers participate in all promotions. To avoid disappointment, call your dealer and ask them if they are honoring the promotion you are interested in and if they are any additional costs involved such as activation fees.

Here are the new offers:

U Pay 1, We Pay 1: The best promotion is also the one that's hardest to take advantage of. Called the "U Pay 1, We Pay 1" promotion it essentially gives you half price service. To qualify you have to supply a Verizon, T-Mobile or AT&T iPhone and activate it on a Boost's $50/month unlimited single line plan. Every other month, for the life of the phone, Boost will give you a $50 credit to cover the next month's service. Only the following iPhones are eligible for this offer: Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s or 6s Plus; Verizon only iPhone 5s, 5c, SE, 7 or 7 Plus. The same phones from Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile MVNOs are also eligible. The U Pay 1, We Pay One offer is available until June 1 in all markets.

Boost U Pay 1, We Pay 1

Free Phones for Port-Ins: Port a number from a non-Sprint based carrier, which hasn't been active on the Sprint network for at least 90 days and activate it on the Boost $50 plan and get a free phone. Eligible phones, subject to availability are: Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge, LG X Power, ZTE Prestige 2, LG Tribute HD, Kyocera Hydro Reach, Alcatel Dawn or LG K3. Customers can receive up to five free phones, if they port five numbers. Available until June 1, 2017 in all markets.

Boost Free Phones for Switchers

Add A Line Promotion: add a new line of service to an existing Boost account and get the first month of service for free. Limited to a maximum of five total lines per account. Available until June 1 in all markets:
Boost Add A Line Promotion

Boost Add A Line Family Plan Promotion

New Referral Program: Boost customers can now defer friends and family at refer.boostmobile.com. Referrer and referee will each receive a $25 account credit within 30 days. Limited to a total of $500 in referrals per year for each customer.
Boost Mobile Referral Program

The latest Sprint iPhones are now eligible for BYOSP: The following iPhones have been added to the list of Sprint phones that can be activated on Boost: iPhone SE, 6s, 6s Plus, 7 and 7s Plus.

    1. Although the AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and unlocked US market iPhone SE are all the same model A1662, Boost only supports the Verizon iPhone SE for this promotion. It makes no sense, but I've come to expect that from Sprint.

  2. 6 and above only.

    1. I thought the SE is above the 6?

  3. $25 a month for unlimited, crazy times!

    1. Sprint or Boost unlimited is worth a lot less than unlimited on the better networks. So the price of no special bargain at all.

    2. Some will find a special bargain here, in different spots in the country. Like those who live in Chicago, and never leave the city. They can enjoy a great Boost deal.

  4. I wonder when the credit comes, and does it cover tax.
Also what happens if you lose, break or want to upgrade/downgrade you phone?

    1. The credit is $50 which covers the plan but not tax. If you change phones or plans the promotion is lost.

    2. Change of phone blows it? Notwithstanding the inferior network? Bahahahahahaahahahhaa

  5. Can we use total wireless phones. I used it for only 2 months.

  6. Omly if the Total Wireless phones are unlocked and an iPhone 5s or later.

  7. Sprint wants to pick up customers but only those who own an iPhone, why?

    1. They want to show customers how to convert an iphone to an ipod after it uses the Sprint network. Pretty cool!

    2. Cleverest comment ever. And quite true, for most people in most places of the US...

If you look at the Boost coverage map... click here.... your iPhone is downgraded to an iPod in everywhere except what shows as green.

  8. Bravo for an excellent and informative article Dennis. I have missed out on some previous dealer only Boost promotions because I had no proof to persuade the dealer of the veracity of the promotion. The screenshots should help.

Does anyone know which markets are excluded?

  9. If you activate a multi-network Android phone and port your number, all you get is a glorified paper weight.

It's not exactly a tempting offer, especially when Sprint's not even buying spectrum anymore.

They're basically a dead carrier walking.

That alone should cause people to steer clear, and dealers might be better served switching to Cricket or Metro (depending on the area).

They're basically a dead carrier walking."

Why bid on spectrum when you have an advertising contract with that smarmy "Can you hear me now?" guy. As T-Mobile starts to utilize their 600 MHZ spectrum, look for the smarmy yellow-shirt man to proclaim in adverts that "Sprint is 99% as effective as T-Mobile".

Talk is very cheap, compared to actually building a network.

    2. It was the paper weight one, which I must've overlooked.

Then again, who pays attention to anything on Sunday.

  13. U Pay 1, We Pay 1: Every other month for the life of the phone. Not such a great plan as it goes back up to $50 EVERY month when you switch phones.

    1. Then don't switch phones.

  14. Dennis can't censor anything here anyway. Any decisions to remove content from HIS OWN forum are an expression of freedom of speech, freedom of the press.

The political baiting troll is still exactly as free to post anything he wants on his own forum. There's nothing Dennis has ever done to stop him (thus, no censorship by Dennis)... assuming that he would ever want to.

  16. People need to get over there self righteous feeling because they can't let anyone have a good deal but them, it's why YouTube comments are full of people acting like children maybe worse. Do you check coverage yes, is coverage good in your area maybe , is any company perfect, no , is it tolerable for 300 a year or 25 a month for unlimited data yes it's a great deal, better than T-Mobile in my area , everyone and there monther has T-Mobile in my area the network is overloaded , I get anywhere from 40 to 90 down and 18/20 up better than my wifi and faster than YouTube or. Most web sites can even make use of.

  17. Are you keeping your iPhone or trading it in for a boost iPhone? If you are keeping your iPhone will it be able to use all LTE bands? Or just one band? Will you be able to have voice roaming? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It depends on the model. All US 6S models including A1633 and Global A1688 support all Sprint bands.
The GSM 6, 5S and 5C do not work on Sprint CDMA at all. The Verizon 5S, 5C and SE do not support all Sprint bands. e.g., 6 and SE do not support Band 41. 5C and 5S only work on Sprint Band 25.
iPhone 7 for Verizon and Sprint are the same. AT&T and T-Mobile iPhone 7 have all the Sprint LTE bands but do not support Sprint CDMA.

    2. iPhones do not get the 50 min. voice roaming/month unless this changed very recently. This is a deal-killer for me. Ting and Twigby are happy about this.
