Lately, there has been a number of unlocked phones released in the US. Just recently, one of the unlocked devices announced to go on sale at a number of Target retail stores is Huawei's Honor 6X smartphone. With this announcement, interested individuals can pick up an unlocked model for $250 at a nearby Target store.

The Huawei Honor 6X was first announced at CES 2017 held in January. Shortly after, the device was released with Android Marshmallow. An upgrade to Android Nougat was soon available. Because of how well it's built, the Honor 6X has received a number of positive feedback and recognition. The device comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display and is powered by a Kirin 655 Octa-Core processor with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and up to 256GB memory expansion through a micro SD card.

On the back of the Honor 6X are a couple of 12-megapixel cameras. It also sports an 8-megapixel in front for selfies and video calls. A 3,340 mAh battery is built inside the Honor 6X. The device supports LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 20, and 38 in the US; making it compatible with T-Mobile, MetroPCS, AT&T, Cricket Wireless, and Consumer Cellular. Some of its advanced carrier-based features may not be available, however.

If you're interested to pick up the Honor 6X, you can head over to one of the 460 Target retail stores across the country. You can then choose between a gray, gold, or silver color for the Honor 6X.

  1. There are people saying just because it has band 12 doesn't mean T-mobile has white listed it to even use band 12, with or without VoLTE.

  2. I believe the 32gb model only has 3gb of ram

  3. It comes with a free back door to The People's Democratic Republic of China. However, you can't enter said door, as it is one-way.

    1. News flash: there are a lot of popular phones that are built in the beloved PRC, or source components from there. Even ones "designed in the USA."

    2. And even worse ones like the "BLU" line which specifically ships with Chinese malware.

    3. Blu is a US based distributor. They don't manufacture phones and in many cases don't even design them. They just slap their name on phones from multiple Chinese manufacturers. I doubt that Blu was even aware that some of their phones had spyware on them until it was discovered by security researchers. Blu quickly issued an OTA update to remove the spyware.

Stuff like that happens and it can destroy a company's reputation. You can bet that Blu is being a lot more vigilant about testing its phones since the incident.

    4. Sorry, Dennis. Stuff like that is obvious negligence, and I don't give companies a "do over" when this happens as a direct result of a company's poor security policies.

  5. Not too shabby for an unlocked phone sold in a chain outlet.

  6. Does anyone else get the feeling that soon the only two chain stores left in the entire country will be Walmart and Target?

    1. Perhaps, but the demise of the other chains will only be the fault of these other chains.

From making such poor decisions as overcharging for services and goods, allowing unions which means wasting money overpaying bad employees who would otherwise be fired, or otherwise having bad customer-hostile service (such as choosing being open only 7 hours a day while the nearby Walmart is open 24).

Walmart and Target don't kill competition. The competition kills itself due to making poor decisions.

  7. The 32GB version only has 3GB if RAM, which makes this a terrible deal compared to the 64GB G5 Plus.

  8. another phone locked to 2 carriers or their mvnos. I will be so happy when they make it so mfgs don't have to pay to have their phone simply be compatible with a network, then it will get interesting.
