Ultra Mobile Unveils New Ultra Flex and Ultra Flex Family Prepaid Plans

ultra-flex-plans
Just last month, Ultra Mobile released a teaser where it talked about its upcoming Ultra Flex and Ultra Flex Family prepaid plan. In the teaser, the T-Mobile MVNO talked about the different features included in the plan as well as how Ultra Flex promises to be the lowest priced plan for prepaid customers. Meanwhile, Ultra Flex Family delivers best value for four lines for four month.

Earlier today, Ultra Mobile finally launched the new plans under Ultra Flex and Ultra Flex Family. In more detail, the plans include the following:

Ultra Flex Plan
(Individual user)

Ultra Flex plan comes with 4+ months of service for only $11.50/month. This plan includes:
  • Unlimited nationwide talk and global text
  • Unlimited international talk to Flex 10 destinations
  • 250 MB rollover 4G LTE per month
Since Ultra Mobile wants its users to buy more months, the price of the plan also lowers in time. For instance, one month of Ultra Flex plan costs $21/month. Two months of service cost $16.50/month, and three months of service cost $14/month. To get the most out of the plan, Ultra Mobile recommends getting at least four months of service, which costs $11.50/month.

Ultra Flex Family
(Family plan)

Ultra Mobile prides itself for creating Ultra Flex Family, the first family plan built for prepaid. The more lines are added, the lower the individual monthly rates become. When adding four lines or more, the plan becomes $11.50/month. This also includes:

  • Unlimited nationwide talk and global text
  • Unlimited international talk to Flex 10 destinations
  • 250 MB shareable 4G LTE per line added
One line costs $21/month and includes 250 MB data. Two lines are priced at $16.50/line/month with 500 MB shared data while three lines cost $14/line/month with 750 MB shared data.

If additional data is needed, Ultra Mobile makes it easy and affordable to do so; starting at $5 with Ultra Flex Data.

  • 500 MB for $5
  • 1 GB for $10
  • 2 GB for $20
  • 5 GB for $45
  • 10 GB for $80
Ultra Mobile's idea behind both plans is that the more you buy up front, the more you can save. And this concept is translated into its pricing.

More information about this new plan can be found on the video:

  1. This is a pretty good plan, its like MintSim with flexible data buckets.

Too bad you have to visit a reseller to get it.

    2. What's wrong with visiting a reseller? We also have families to support.

Because I generally know more than your typical reseller. Also don't I feel the need to pay an extra "activation fee" because you inserted a sim card and punched in some numbers. It's not rocket science.

  2. Cool beans.

I guess this is great for those people who use very little data and talk and text more.

I was wondering, is the data hardcapped or is it to allow unlimited 2g afterwards?

  3. $80 for 10GB is not competitive

    1. These plans might not be for people who need a ton of data. But the 10GB rolls over until you use it. If you need 2GB a month that $80 will last you 5 months. And if you normally only need a small amount of data (like me) or if your data needs vary widely, then that 10GB can last a long time (or you can buy less data and not bother paying upfront). For a lot of people, these plans probably aren't bad.

  7. In California, the $19 plan, with all the "fees" and taxes comes to $25, I am using a Portland Oregon number, and paying only $20 a month.

  8. I think this is a great plan. Unlimited talk and text for $11.50 is about as good as it gets. Then add in 250mb of rollover data and that sweetens the deal. Then unlimited international calling to 10 locations - even better.

What comes close? It is priced below their own mintsim so it will appeal to people who don't need as much data or who want international calling.

Redpocket's $10 plan includes 500/500/100. Others like MetroPCS, Walmart family mobile etc offer 1gb+ for $25+
