New Customers Get Extra GB of Data on $30 Plan from H2O Wireless

h2o-wireless-3GB-$30-month-plan
H2O Wireless is currently running a promotion for new customers and those who decide to port their number. This promotion offered by the AT&T MVNO began last July 1st and is available until September 30th at 12 am ET.

Under the promotion, new customers and port-ins will be eligible for a $30 plan that comes with 3GB of data instead of the original 2GB data allotted on the plan. With Auto Pay, the cost of the plan can still be brought down to $27 per month.

In addition to the extra 1GB of data, customers can enjoy unlimited talk, text, and international text. Unlimited international calling and texting is included for over 50 countries, along with a $10 international calling credit. Data gets throttled to 2G after high speed data allotment. Roaming and tethering is not allowed.

  2. Still not worth it for only 3mbps in a 20mbps area.

  4. is there a list of MVNO's whose host carriers do not throttle LTE data? It seems that both AT&T and Verizon throttle all MVNO's to 8mbps or less. Thanks!

  5. Verizon was the only MNO that throttled all its MVNOs. But that seems to be changing as TracFone's brands on Verizon are now un-throttled.

AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile don't have a blanket throttle on their MVNOs. H2O has recently adopted an 8 mbs throttle but no other AT&T MVNOs have. (Cricket is an AT&T brand, not an MVNO).

    1. Even before the throttle, their "unthrottled" speeds were strangely slower than Cricket's.

  6. It is 3gb data from last year probably sept 2016 or even earlier. How.is this even a news now. The international call is shit dont work well but otherwise it is servicable since you get at&t coverage cheapef than at&t go phone

  7. H2O cut data back to 2 GB on the $30 for everyone on July 1. So the 3 GB promo is news even if it's temporary only for new activations.

  8. And this plan does not include MMS capability (group text and sending pictures)
Apparently they are working on it....

    1. MMS works on H2O on all devices except un-jailbroken iPhones. It doesn't work on iPhones because Apple and AT&T have blocked user access to the data settings needed to configure it.

  9. Correct. Hope they can fix this as iphone, not jailbreaked, represent the vast majority of users.
I am not sure there is a similarly priced plan out there that includes mms for iPhone...

  10. Will data work while on a phone call?

    1. Yes, of course. AT&T is GSM, not CDMA.

  11. They don't really make it clear that only your first month is 3gb. Well this is still great for one time use of visiting family from abroad.
