  1. That thing with more 4G LTE coverage with cricket compared to sprint and t-mobile: it's not just more.
.... it's probably twice as much. It's a huge difference.

The difference between a network you can rely on wherever you live work or play, and one where you can only use data here or there and few spots in between.

    1. If you live, work and play in an area without Sprint/T-Mo coverage then that's a matter of course.

However, not everyone commutes to the middle of nowhere.

  2. Cricket always seems to get the best deals on equipment .

  3. The article should mention Cricket gouges customers with a $25 per line activation fee. Most of the lower priced phones are no deal when you add in that fee.

    1. I got two Cricket lines activated for $0.

      One of them was in-store.

Actually, your comment needs a major clarification.

      "Activation -
Applies to both Cricket-purchased devices and devices that you bring to Cricket (BYOD).

      In Store: $25
      Online: $0"

So if you are smart enough to use the Web and comment here, you are smart enough to pay $0 for Cricket activation. This fee might clobber the cyberphobic "Jitterbug" generation, but no one else will get gouged.

Help, I've fallen and I can't get up....

  4. If you look at Cricket's list of fees, there is no way you can say that they gouge for anything, other than its $15 phone number change fee (which one might call gouging maybe as it is more than the $12 fee from MetroPCS)

If you activate online, aren't a deadbeat and pay on time, and don't do something as lame as smash a new phone and send it back to Cricket expecting full credit, you will pay $0 in fees. Yes, $0.

That's a starting point. If you activate during one of their specials, or port-in offers from certain carriers, not only do you pay nothing to activate with Cricket, you could be paid as much as $100 to do so.

  5. Hello Dennis,

Do you know if CALIFORNIANS now have to pay TAXES on top of the monthly CRICKET rates?

    1. No taxes in any state with Cricket. All taxes are paid by Cricket.

    2. I got cricket before their $100 credit deal expired. I did not pay taxes and I live in california.

  6. Anyone know end date of this promo?
