T-Mobile and MetroPCS LG Stylo 2 Plus Devices to Receive Android 7.0 Nougat Update

T-Mobile devices are slated to receive an update to Android 7.0 Nougat this week. One of the devices expected to get an update this week is the LG Stylo 2 Plus. As confirmed on T-Mobile's @askdes Twitter account, the latest Android OS update is coming to both T-Mobile and MetroPCS versions of the device.

To further support the confirmation given on Twitter, the support page for the device on T-Mobile has recently been updated with new information about the update. The support page says the update weighs in at 1112.28MB and comes with a number of bug fixes and improvements on its software's stability.

Once the LG Stylo 2 Plus is updated to the latest OS, its users will be able to enjoy the new features offered on Android 7.0 such as multi-window support, battery savings with Doze on the Go, 2x multitasking, and many more. The update also brings a quick reply function that enables users to reply to messages from the notification itself. Other features included in Android 7.0 Nougat are:

  • Split-Screen Mode
  • Quick Switch
  • UI Tuner
  • Pull-Down Shade Editing
  • Power Notifications
  • Notification Editing
  • Separate Wallpaper for Lock and Home Screens

If you have an LG Stylo 2 Plus, you'll be able to enjoy these features on your device once the Android 7.0 Nougat update becomes available. You can opt to manually check when the update is available by heading to your Settings app > General > About phone > Update Center > System update > Check for update.

  1. Would rather have a better phone with at least 3GB of RAM that comes with Nougat right out of the box.

This is basically a 1yo phone with 2yo specs at a 6mo price point.

    1. No love for the ZTE ZMAX Pro. Oh well. Still a decent phone for a budget prices.

  2. Nice to read! We have 2 of these since last June 2016 on MetroPCS and they work fast and smooth. For $100 each at the time they do everything a Galaxy or iPhone does....and MetroPCS Tmobile network is fast and ready everywhere we have traveled in the US and Puerto Rico.

  3. Nougat arrived and the upgrade took at most 15 minutes. The phone works fine. Thanks Metro!

  4. With this upgraded Android version I cannot access the brightness settings in the lock screen like before. This was one of the features I used the most! I am very disappointed. I did extensive research and I have not found a solution yet.
