Net10 brand has been looking pretty neglected. Unlike TracFone's other brands, I hardly ever see an online ad or a TV spot for Net10. Net10 plan prices haven't been updated recently and are higher than comparable plans from Net10's sister brands Straight Talk, Simple Mobile and Total Wireless. TracFone's other brands sell the latest Android flagships and iPhones on their web pages, Net10's website has a dreary assortment of old and low end Android phones.
It looks like TracFone is finally showing Net10 a little love in the form of a double data for life promotion. Now through Nov. 26, 2017, customers who activate a new Net10 smartphone or BYOP line will receive double the normal amount of high speed data for whatever Net 10 plan they choose. That means that $35 plan users will get 4 GB of high speed data per month instead of the usual 2 GB. $40 plan users will get 8 GB instead of 4, $50 plan customers will get 16 GB instead of 8 and $60 plan users will get 20 GB instead of 10. The customer gets to keep double data benefit as they don't change their phone number or do anything that causes their service to be interrupted, like missing a monthly payment.
All Net10 smartphone plans also include unlimited voice calls and messaging and unlimited 64 mbps throttled data after the first 4, 8, 16 or 20 GB. A 10% auto-pay discount is available.
Net10 offers service on the AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile networks. Which network a customer gets depends on which Net10 phone or BYOP SIM the customer activates. If you are thinking of activating on Net10, I recommend BYOP because it's easier to get the network you want and you aren't stuck with Net10's lousy phone selection. If you do choose to buy a phone from Net10 see our How to Tell Which Network (AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint or Verizon) a TracFone, NET10 or Straight Talk Phone Uses post for tips on how to find a phone that runs on the network you prefer.
