    2. Dennis , when you add the smallest 3 month kit to your cart it shows 3 months+ 3 free. Looks to only work on that plan, for now anyway.

  5. What does "clever af" mean?

    1. It's the name of their plans. They have Clever AF, Still Really Clever, and Cleverer AF.

    2. I don't see then referencing those names in their website not Best buy's website, there's silly descriptions for sure though!

  6. Confusing, the 6 months for 3 only applies to the small plan but your article makes it look like you can choose any plan.

  7. Wow, really? How juvenile, trashy, and profane.

    1. "Clever And Foxy" (or something like that) is profane? (You did notice their mascot is a FOX, right? ;) Boy, people just dive right for the gutter nowadays.

Yeah, Mint has much better coverage than Verizon, too. And also as good as Sprint.

  10. Went to my local Best Buy to check out mint sim. No display, no prepaid cards, and the salesman didn't have a clue!

  11. thanks for this news. have already decided to switch from lycamobile to mintsim. and then saw the news here. the 2gig plan for $45 for six months looks like a bargain and is enough for one of my phones. the lycamobile sim on this particular phone of mine was a preloaded sim with two months $29 plan with 4gig data, bought on ebay for only $20, but looks like me can be satisfied to have sufficient 2gig on mintsim instead. and me thinks that the shorter mintsim (or mint) carrier name would look better in the status bar on the lockscreen. really appreciate this black friday shopping news. thanx!

  12. Does the best buy mint Sim kit qualify for the free 3 months?!

    ReplyDelete

    1. No, you have to buy the kit from the Mint SIM site during the sale to get the 3 free months.

  13. so the 12:00 AM ET Black Friday November 24 sale start time means that it starts 9:00 PM PT Thursday November 23 for those of us in west coast states like california, yes?

    1. bought the six month $45 deal for the 2gig per month. but came out to be $50 with the recovery fee and the california mts taxes and the shipping of the sim card. still not that bad for six months service. now hoping the depriorizing is not that bad. yeah buying bottom of the barrel pricing may get you bottom of the barrel service. (but should be no worse than ringplus!!) anyways, on wifi most of the time. assuming calls and texts will be okay. my real phone is on at&t and this mintsim is great for my backup android.

  14. Does anybody know how long you can wait to activate the mint Sim kits?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Any REAL time limit on activation? I know in the past they've said you must a in something like 45 days, but the SIMs themselves had a much further expiration date printed on them. I'm not up for renewal until March, but would love to get in on the deal (Google Voice lets me not worry about keeping the existing SIM's number). Any known horror stories of them enforcing that time limit?

    1. All T-Mobile based Sims have a
Expiration date, but it has nothing to do with whatever plan or promo is attached to it, in other words.. Ignore it , mint's requirements supercedes it, whatever they are.

    2. Of course I bought the 6 for 3 promo even though I don't need it, I need help.

      Delete
    3. Anybody know if these kits have a seperate pin for the airtime or is it already attached to the Sim card? Thanks

      Delete
    4. I'm surprised there's nothing obvious that states an expiration date to activate by.

  16. Glancing through the terms & conditions was interesting. In section 8.5 they mention that initial throttling (once you use the allotted data) varies according to your plan and that more details can be found in the FAQs. Well, I searched both manually and via their search function and came up empty on said details. Wonder what that's about?

  17. Oh & BTW, the site says the offer runs through the end of the year.

  18. If I bought the Mintsim 3 month from their website before Nov. 24, but I activated it on Nov. 27, Would I get the 3 free month or it I had to buy it on Nov 24?
In case the answer is yes, I will get the offer, so how could I know I already have it.

    1. You're actually purchasing a 6 month kit and they discount it, so I don't think so.

  19. ordered MintSIM and paid on 11/26. called today and they haven't processed. said they were flooded with orders and cant handle them all. wondering if I've been had, will lose my $$, or if they will catch up. eitherway, its going to be too late, as my other plan is running out and I'm going to be up the creek in a couple more days! Not a good start for MintSIM for me! hope things smooth out. unlimited service for less than $10 does sound too good to be true!

    1. ordered mine on black friday 11/24. shipped monday 11/27 according to mintsim email and usps tracking. guessing they not work on mailing out orders on saturday to catch the black friday orders. if you ordered on sunday 11/26, then you were at the bottom of the pile on monday 11/27 for orders going back to black friday. should get mine tomorrow thursday 11/30. maybe you'll get yours by saturday?

    2. okay got my mint sim. the envelope says return address is ultra mobile. well, mintsim is actually provided by ultra mobile. 3in1 sim with pre-cut punch-out standard, micro, nano sizes. has activation code along with sim serial number on back of card. plus also says: "Activate by Date: 08/08/2020" -- but will most likely activate my new sim and port to mintsim sometime nearer before 01/08/2018 when my current double-month lycamobile sim expires. included packing slip (invoice/receipt) says "6 month" and sticker on the mintsim green foxy container folder also says "INCLUDES 6 MONTHS OF SERVICE". haha that little foldout container folder also has a silly diagram of the mintsim fox mascot illustrating the "Anatomy of a Mint Fox":

"The Mint Fox is a rare species, gifted at birth with qualities of extraordinary cleverness, intellect, resilence and dance...."

hoping and expecting this mintsim to be as satisfactory as my current lycamobile sim. paid $20 for the preloaded 2-month lyca sim (4gb per month), plus now $45 for the 6-month mint sim (2gb per month). not bad for 8 months total (lyca + mint) at around a cheap combined $8 per month.
