MetroPCS Black Friday Offer: Free Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and Amazon Prime Subscription

metropcs-black-friday-offer-2017
Without a doubt, Black Friday is one of the most awaited shopping events of the year. Black Friday is celebrated a day after Thanksgiving and is regarded as the first day when people start shopping for the Christmas season. For this reason, retailers offer marked down prices to entice shoppers to buy more.

You probably already have a list of stores or websites you plan to visit for Black Friday sale. And since the sale happens pretty quickly, it's important that you get to prepare for the day before everything you want disappears.

Adding to the list of stores, T-Mobile has a special Black Friday offer for its MetroPCS prepaid brand. If you're in need of a new phone and have been considering switching to MetroPCS, this offer may be the push you've been waiting for.

For a limited time, MetroPCS is offering a free one-year subscription to Amazon Prime along with a free Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime once you switch to the prepaid brand and get an unlimited LTE plan.

You can choose from either of these two plans:

  • $50 per month - comes with unlimited talk, text, and 4G LTE data with video streaming at 480p and no mobile hotspot
  • $60 per month - comes with unlimited talk, text, and 4G LTE data with video streaming at 480p and 10GB of hotspot usage

The Freebies

Once you sign up, you'll get two freebies from MetroPCS. The first, of course, is a Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime smartphone. This device comes with a 5.5-inch 1280x720 display, a 1.6GHz Exynos 7870 octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, and up to 256GB memory expansion. Camera-wise, the phone has an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone has a 3,300mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat upon release.

The other freebie you get with this offer is a one-year subscription to Amazon Prime. And as you already know, this comes with a number of perks. When you shop at Amazon, you get a free two-day shipping on your purchases. Plus this subscription gives you access to Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Photos, and many more.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime sells for $209 while an Amazon Prime subscription is worth $99. This is already a $308 savings on your end while you enjoy your unlimited LTE plan from MetroPCS.

Again, this offer is only available in stores and for a limited time.

  1. Does this offer work for current customers? Both for free phones and Amazon Prime?

    1. I don't think it matters as long as you meet the offer's requirements of:
      1) Port a wireless number that's not currently active on T-Mobile network to MetroPCS.
      2) Activate the ported number on an unlimited LTE plan as a new line of service.

    2. Impossible to unlock right, and metro Sim cards cannot to switched to another phone?

    3. Anon 4:33 - - The problem for current customers is that you're not eligible for MetroPCS special offers if your phone number has been active on Metro within the last 90 days, in general.

Anon 5:57 -- you can unlock MetroPCS phones with eBay unlockers, but it costs about $15-$25. You can switch the SIM card to another phone, but first you have to call tech support with the new IMEI.

    4. Does this go for people who already have metro???

  2. Switcher Promo - "works" ONLY for customers that switch to MetroPCS and sign up for an unlimited LTE plan.

  4. Does the Amazon prime membership stack, day you already have an Amazon membership good until April 2018?

  5. To be fair this phone is actually $99 in store.

  6. Fantastic offer. Metro PCS works just fine in NYC, I see alot of people around here jumping to take advantage of this deal.

  7. At "participating" stores, meaning if they don't feel like honoring it they won't. Metro pcs games.

  8. I wonder if the Amazon prime 1yr resets your existing Amazon renewal date?

    1. usually if you have a year of prime already it will just be a $100 gift card for amazon which can later be used for prime or anything else.

  9. Straight talk's version of this phone will be $50 for Walmart Black Friday, Verizon i believe.. Just for comparison.

  10. This is a good deal but metropcs dealers usually make their own rules with promotions. The potential new metropcs customer may have to go to several stores to find the one that will have the J7 in stock and not force the additional purchase of a case and charger and pay a high activation fee

  11. Can you put the Sim into your own unlocked phone after you walk out the store, and can the j7 then accept any Sim card?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You can switch the SIM to a different phone only after calling tech support with the new IMEI.

The J7 will only accept a non-Metro SIM after an unlock. Ebay sellers will do it for $15-$25, or you can get an unlock after 90 days on Metro

  12. Good deal for somebody that actually needs phone service, and even a good deal for somebody looking to game the system, the year of Prime sweetens the pot.

  13. Usually I prefer in store deals, but but in metros case.. Way to many games.

  14. It's good to see Metro going in for the kill after Cricket raised prices, dumped referral rewards, etc.

    1. Where did they raise prices without adding data, the same$40 plan now has 5 gigs for instance.

      Delete
    2. Anon 8:10 -- really? They're raising prices on everybody in a group plan who makes a change to even a single line in the group, and are getting rid of the 8 GB and 12 GB plans (so in order to have more than 3 Mbps, you need to purchase the $60 unlimited plan).

  15. Just realized my dual SIM phone had 2 different IMEI numbers, will metro accept them.?

    1. Yes. You just give them the IMEI number if the sim slot you'll be using.

  16. Amazon Prime members shutting down stores one brick & mortar at a time.
    Such a shame.

  17. Impreessive but MetroPCS doesn't currently meet my coverage needs (only ATT or VZ ).

  18. Decent deal..To bad TMobile service sucks in my area too..

  19. I am current T-Mobile Prepaid customer. Am I eligible if I port my number to Metro PCS?

    ReplyDelete
  20. No you will need to port to a no T-Mobile carrier/MVNO/VOIP service.

Perhaps Dennis will compile a list of low cost or free places to port. (hint, hint)

    Paygo service should work.

  21. The same offer has been available for a week now.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Will they accept Google voice numbers for port in?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Probably, but only mobile phone number port-ins are eligible for the free j7 and Amazon Prime.

  23. What about people from other countries.. South Africa, ma uh be?

    ReplyDelete

    1. You can't port a non-US number to a US carrier. Plus the offer is only available at MetroPCS stores in the US. Spending a $1000 on airfare to fly to the US and back to get a $99 Prime subscription and a $200 carrier locked phone makes no sense.

  24. I just passed a sign at a metro pcs store thats been there for months advertising an unlimited data talk and text plan for just $30 a month and a free phone. So really we aren't getting the amazon prime for free. They hiked up the normal plan price by $30.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No. You're confusing unlimited data with unlimited high-speed data. The $30 plan:
      Plan
$30 Unlimited Talk and Text and Data: Unlimited data (speed reduced after 2 GB) 128 Kbps is the approximate maximum reduced speed

      Delete
  25. All of metropcs offers are conditional based on different factors such as switching carriers or selecting the unlimited $50 plan and not the $30 monthly plan. Also each store honors the promotions differently such as charging activation fees or forcing bundle purchases such as insurance or cases
