Boost Mobile to Launch Plan with HD Streaming and 20GB Mobile Hotspot

boost-mobile-new-60-month-plan
So it looks like Boost Mobile will be launching a new plan tomorrow, February 9th. YouTuber Dragonicwarfare unveiled information about a third plan that the Sprint prepaid brand was planning to offer. Dragonicwarfare got the information directly from Boost Mobile.

According to the live-streamed video, Boost will be offering a $60 unlimited plan that has all the same features as the $50 unlimited plan and something more. The plan is called $60 Unlimited Plus Plan, where the Plus stands for unlimited HD streaming. For $10 more, you get to enjoy a plan with unlimited talk, text, data, and HD streaming. When you compare this with the $50 plan, you only get to stream videos at standard definition quality.

Another feature included in the new $60 Unlimited Plus plan is 20GB hotspot. Comparing this with the $50 Unlimited plan that only had 8GB hotspot, that's an increase of 12GB hotspot.

The new plan will also be available for family plans for $40 per line.

Once the new plan goes live tomorrow, Boost Mobile will be offering three plans in total:

  • $35 per month plan - includes unlimited talk, text, 3GB of 4G LTE data, and 8GB mobile hotspot.
  • $50 per month plan - includes unlimited talk, text, unlimited GB of 4G LTE data, and 8GB mobile hotspot. Video streaming, however, is limited to 480p+ resolution.
  • $60 per month plan - includes unlimited talk, text, unlimited GB of 4G LTE data, 20GB mobile hotspot, and HD video streaming.
The new $60 unlimited plus plan will be available from February 9 until April 5 only.

Shout out to one of our readers for the heads up on this amazing deal!

  2. It looks like Metro might need to re-introduce HD streaming at the 60.00 price point to remain competitive.

    1. HD and 20GB of hotspot. Hotspot is most important.

  3. 20 gb hotspot option is a smart move. This coupled with better coverage in the near future will make this plan more competitive.

  4. Still too small a hotspot at 20gb Data with your smartphone plan

    1. Yes, the hotspot should be unlimited but deprioritized, since this is an unlimited plan.

  5. You can't even stream SD on Sprint's 3G network. Why would anyone pay an extra $10? Its gimmicks like this that scream managerial competence. Why not add data roaming like Virgin Mobile? Why not double the data on the $35 plan? Why not add international data packages? Why not add WiFi calling and Calling Plus to Boost? Nah, lets just add a stupid amount of hotspot data and call a day. Very FEW people use hotspot (legally), especially on prepaid.

    1. 20gb hotspot on prepaid at this price point is attractive to me since I do legally use hotspot and reguraly run out. Also, Boost(Sprint) always has a LTE where I live with respectable speeds. This is not a gimmick.

  6. Well...now add roaming coverage on Boost Mobile even better.

  7. I just got this new plan and I'm liking it so far. I needed a second phone and this fits the bill. I gave up Cricket and moved to Boost Mobile. I already have AT&T contact service so I think I will give Boost a legitimate try. Boost give perks that many other companies don't mainly because of network liability but if you live in a good Sprint area then give it a shot .There is no law that says you can only have ONE PHONE.

  8. I have the five lines for $100. Would upgrading all five lines to this plan raise my cost to $150 or $200?

    1. I am a boost mobile dealer, The $60 plan has add a line for $40 extra each line, So it would cost you $220 for 5 lines, Since you on the GREAT 5 lines for $100 plan, You should keep that and just a add a single line for $60 for HD streaming and 20 gig hotspot

      My condolences, sir.

  9. I hope Boost reconsiders family pricing on this plan. $40 per line added is not at all competitive.

  10. Still staying with AT&T PrePaid because whatever data I have goes toward the hotspot. If I go one month, use 1 GB of data and then the other 5 GB carries over to the next month, I have 11 GB of data and I can use that entire amount towards the hotspot, for $45 a month. Only downside is that AT&T PrePaid does not allow me to run a hotspot on their unilmited plan. If I get throttled (for using up all of my high speed data) I still have a hotspot, just at 128 kbps. Still doable; a lot of stuff times out but that hotspot still works.
