Republic Wireless Launches New Discount Program Exclusively for Teachers

Republic Wireless, an MVNO operating under the networks of Sprint and T-Mobile, has just launched a new discount program exclusively available for educators. The Educator Appreciation Program (EAP) discount follows Teacher Appreciate Week, which was held last week.

So what can you expect to pay? Regular subscribers consume $15/month to use Republic Wireless' unlimited talk and text plan. Data is an extra $5/GB so it depends on how much data you include in your plan.

Under Republic Wireless' EAP plan, however, you only need to pay $7.50 for unlimited talk and text. Each data GB will cost you $2.50 instead of $5.

If you are an educator, you can be eligible for a 50% discount on a new or existing phone plan offered by Republic Wireless. The discount is available to K-12 teachers, support staff, and administrators. In order to get the discount, you need to sign up for the MVNO's EAP plan using your school email address. Once you've signed up, you'll be able to keep your phone plan at a discounted price until at least May 31, 2020.

Republic Wireless' EAP plan announcement comes after the MVNO released its screenless device aimed for children between 6-11 years old. Called Relay, the device comes with a push-to-talk functionality that helps parents communicate with their child wherever they go. The device is small enough for a child to carry around and is rugged so it can withstand any minor accidents. It is always online and connected to WiFi or Republic Wireless' network.

This device costs $99.99 for one and $199.99 for three. It comes with a wireless subscription that costs $6.99/month per Relay device.
