ROK Updates Plans With Lower Prices and More Data

ROK Mobile - Lower Prices, More Data
Yesterday AT&T MVNO ROK Mobile increased the amount of high speed data included with both its plans and also lowered the plan prices.

  • The former $40 4 GB plan is now a $35 5 GB plan
  • The $60 8 GB plan is now a $55 10 GB plan

Both plans also include unlimited talk and messaging and unlimited throttled data after the first  5 or 10 GB is used. They also come with a bunch of free perks:

  • Telemedicine: 24/7 access to medical advice from board certified physicians
  • Pharmacy Savings: save up to 75% on prescriptions
  • ROK Rewards: discounts at over 500,000 merchants
  • A $5/month international call credit.
  • SIMs are free when you buy a plan

ROK, which has a history of frequent plan, network and feature changes, recently ended their dealer program to become an online only operator. I suspect these price cuts and data increases are a result of the savings realized from not having to pay commissions.

  1. Woke me when they're offering truly unlimited for $45 or less.

    1. Stay sleeping, Mr. Van Winkle. Due to the laws of physics, there is no such thing as a "truly" unlimited cell phone plan.

Unless you have somebody who downloads 90,000 terabytes of videos per month you would like to tell us about... If you do, please let us know, okay?

    2. No throttling, no caps, no deprioritization, no hotspotting.

      It's really that simple.

  2. Remember when they offer life insurance for subscribers? What happened to that? These companies really have nothing to offer over the million other mvnos...

    1. I remember that. It's sort of gives the impression that Rok is "the only mvno which might actually kill you."

  3. And next week they drop AT&T and move to T-Mobile or Sprint or Verizon or some combo and then back again.
    Who would use this company?

    1. If their desperate flailing is anything to go by, the answer seems to be "nobody."

  4. They do not have MMS for Iphones unless you jailbreak your phone.
