Verizon Prepaid Running Double Data for Life Promotion

verizon-prepaid-double-data-promotion
Verizon went through a sales testing phase of its prepaid service last year via its exclusive dealers. It looks like some of those dealers are ready to make the experience better for their customers as they have started to offer double data for life across all high speed data Verizon Prepaid plans.

Here are the special pricing for dealers under Vidapay platform:

  • $30/month - includes unlimited talk, text, and 1GB of 4G LTE data (before 0.5 GB)
  • $40/month - includes unlimited talk, text, and 6GB of 4G LTE data (before 3GB)
  • $50/month - includes unlimited talk, text, and 14GB of 4G LTE data (before 7GB)
  • $60/month - includes unlimited talk, text, and 20GB of 4G LTE data (before 10GB) + unlimited talk and text to Mexico and Canada

These plans all come with data carryover, mobile hotspot, and unlimited international texting to more than 200 countries. Only one billing cycle is allowed for data carryover and requires on time payments or autopay enrollment. Video streaming under these plans is limited to 480p resolution. Data deprioritization is practiced during times of heavy network traffic.

There is an option to get up to 5 lines for each of these plans. They also come with multi-line discounts, except for the $30 plan. The discount for lines 2-5 are: $10 per month ($40 plan), $15 per month ($50 plan), and $20 per month ($60 plan).

Apart from the double data promotion, independent dealers are currently offering these phones for free or with a discount:

  • Apple iPhone 6 - $170 after a $15 rebate (regular price: $199)
  • LG Optimus Zone 3 - Free after $35 rebate (regular price: $69.99)

Although no end date was announced, Verizon Prepaid's double data promotion is available for a limited time only. Those who sign up for a plan can enjoy double data for life as long as they don't deactivate or port out their line.

  1. Does this apply only to new account activations ? Are there any perks for existing Verizon prepaid customers ?

  2. I've read in a few places that it ends on June 25

  3. Your Verizon perks include the best national coverage, US based customer service and US tech support. I would use Verizon if I could afford it.

  4. Verizon is not all US based cust support. They cinstantly are shutting down US based locations. See CWA web sites.

    1. It's prepaid. How much support do you expect?

    2. I only buy from carriers that have US support, except for one backup line with Tmo prepaid. Tmo overseas support is very good compared to all others I tried.

  5. What is VIDAPAY? Can you go to Walmart and activate? The Walmart $50 plan would end up being 18gigs of data each month since it's currently 9 gigs (7 + 2 bonus gigs)

    1. Vidapay is a payment processing system used by independent dealers for activations and topups.

The double data promotion is not available at Walmart, only at independent mobile dealers.

    2. Walmart is for the uninformed. You cannot get the promo at Wally. You must get a new account at a independent dealer who knows more about the service they are selling unlike Wally.

  6. Hi Dennis. Is Verizon Prepaid deprioritized the same as other MVNO's like TracFone, StraightTalk, Red Pocket, etc - or is Verizon Prepaid a higher priority than other MVNO's & 2nd only to Verizon postpaid?

Also, once 5G takes over 3 - 5 years from now, will our data needs triple / double / quadruple for many people?

    1. Verizon Prepaid data is prioritized below most Verizon postpaid plans. I suspect Verizon MVNOs are prioritized the same or maybe even lower than Verizon Prepaid.

    2. Hi Dennis, missing your Prepaid Phones on Sale This Week feature.
Wanted you to know we notice. Hope all is well & you were just enjoying time off.

    3. I'm enjoying a little vacation. I won't be doing the deals post this week or next.

  7. $40 for 6GB makes it competitive with the previous AT&T plan, which now comes with 8GB.

  8. How do you find out about where are local Verizon independent mobile dealers?

  9. Verizon has declared war on prepaid with this promo

    1. Not really this is restricted to Dealer Only it is not a very wide dealer network just yet. As "declared war", Verizon is always the last one to come out of the trenches to fight and it usually is not a fierce effort.

    2. Verizon has declared their defeat. They couldn't win, so they are trying to keep up with the prepaid market leaders.

    3. Not really. Most prepaid customers never pay on time. 90% of customers will lose the promo within 3 months. Same thing happened with net10 last year.

  10. Still a bit trashy compared to AT&T's new offerings.

$60 should be the price cap for unlimited, especially when you have to go through the trouble of dealing with a dealer.

There is no problem going through us dealers. We take care of our customers better then the corporate stores. Many that are even on contracts end up coming over for phone issues that their contract carrier could not help them with.

  11. Thanks for this information. Can anyone provide the name of some of these dealers ? I live near Portland, Oregon and would love to qualify for this increase in data.

  12. Throw it in the trash.

  13. As a Independent dealer who has activated many customers onto Verizon prepaid I can say Verizons biggest problem is with family or friends lines I constantly have people come in because they paid their bills with Verizon and they get shut off and hours spent on the phone with someone overseas gets issue resolved but theres no reason for it Verizon needs to give us independents a dealer portal so we can fix issues ourselves
These new plans are a last ditch effort for Verizon to see if the independent channel is worth it to them. if it doesnt show numbers dont look for the independent channel to remain much longer. pathetic that Verizon wont list us independents in the dealer or store locator on their site. You will not find these deals at Wal Mart, Bst Buy Or Verizon Stores this is exclusve to Vidapay Independent Stores
Also in our training session we were told if a customer is late or pays before line is deactivated in 3 months Customer will NOT lose the double your data plan.
