If you've been thinking about getting your hands on a new smartphone, you're in luck! Cricket Wireless has brought back its $200 off promotion on flagship smartphones.

The promotion was first announced in March where devices like the Samsung Galaxy S9 and several high-end iPhone models went on sale for the discounted price. Now, it looks like the AT&T prepaid brand has decided to bring back this discount and offer it exclusively for select Apple iPhone devices.

For a limited time period, you can get these iPhone models with a discount of $200:

  • Apple iPhone 7 32GB - $349.99 (was $549.99)
  • Apple iPhone 7 Plus 32GB - $469.99 (was $669.99)
  • Apple iPhone 8 64GB - $499.99 (was $699.99)
  • Apple iPhone 8 256GB - $649.99 (was $849.99)
  • Apple iPhone 8 Plus 64GB - $599.99 (was $799.99)
  • Apple iPhone 8 Plus 256GB - $749.99 (was $949.99)
  • Apple iPhone X 64GB - $799.99 (was $999.99)
  • Apple iPhone X 256GB - $949.99 (was $1149.99)

In order to get the discount, you must be a new customer and subscribe to one of Cricket Wireless' plans at least $30. This offer is not available to those porting from AT&T. The discount does not include first month service charge and applicable sales tax.

Apart from offering a discount on these iPhone models, Cricket is also offering these select Android smartphones for free:

  • Alcatel Verso
  • LG Fortune 2
  • Moto E5 Cruise

These phones are available to switchers for free, except AT&T port-ins. Depending on the phone you choose, you may be required to buy a phone plan at least $30.

The $200 discount promotion on iPhone models is available online only and lasts until September 6, 2018. The free Moto E5 Cruise and Alcatel Verso is also available until September 6, 2018. Meanwhile, the LG Fortune 2 is only available until July 26, 2018.

  1. I have never used Cricket before. Is locked Iphone 7 32gb for $350 good price? Thank you.

    1. Yes, that's a pretty good price for that phone in new condition -- if you plan on sticking with Cricket.

Remember, Cricket is the AT&T native network, which is good, but speeds are limited to 8 Mbps on the more expensive plans, and 3 Mbps / 1.5 Mbps video on the less expensive unlimited plan.

To save a lot of money on Cricket, join a Reddit CricketGroup.

  2. Does porting from H20 count as ATT?

    1. Yes, that's considered AT&T. Just buy a T-Mobile Prepaid ready-to-port number for $7 on ebay.

    2. How would I then get my number to Cricket if the T-Mobile number is ported in?

    3. Port your number from H20 to Mobile prepaid SIM. No need to buy a second SIM. Then ask Cricket to port in your T-Mobile number.

  3. Can the Cricket iphone 7 models be used on Verizon after being unlocked by Cricket per their unlock policy.

    1. No. The iPhone 6S can.

    2. Yes. Posts on Reddit show that Cricket iPhones are the 'universal' Qualcomm models that can be used with CDMA networks after unlocking (just like those sold by Best Buy):

    3. No. You can't count on getting the CDMA iPhone 7 when you buy from Cricket just because two reddit posts say they got a CDMA iPhone 8 or X!

If they sell you the AT&T iPhone 7 model it will not work on Verizon. Besides, one person on Reddit posted: "I bought the iPhone 7 from them about 1.5 years and it was not the Qualcomm (CDMA) version. My point is, verify yourself versus trusting some rando on reddit if it’s important to you."

  4. iPhone 8 price will drop $100 in two months. Your won't have to pay for 6 months of slow Cricket data service if you wait and buy it unlocked from Apple or an authorized retailer.

  5. These prices are so obscene, Cricket should be shut down for public indecency.

    1. I agree. Cricket must put the regular prices back immediately!

  6. "available online only" kills it for me. Every time I try and order off their website, I get an address mismatch error, even though my shipping and billing address is exactly the same and I enter it exactly the same as printed on my credit card statement. When I call their customer service, they always say "just go to a store/dealer". Then I lose the online pricing and there are not many dealers where I live. I have read online of other people having the same problem. Any ideas how to fix this?
