In a time where smartphones play a vital role in our daily lives, it’s important to stay connected. With just a swipe on your mobile phone, you have access to just about any sort of information you may need.

But how do you stay connected without worrying about overages? This is where FreedomPop’s UNREAL Mobile steps in.

The MVNO (operating under Sprint’s networks) has unveiled a new unlimited mobile Wi-Fi service that aims to do just that. With this service, users are able to get Wi-Fi connection wherever they are for only $8 per month. What’s even better is that this low-cost service can offer Wi-Fi hotspot to connect up to eight devices at a time, including other smartphones, laptops, or smart TVs; for only $20.

Samantha Lewe, UNREAL Mobile’s general manager, shares that this Wi-Fi service addresses the needs of “60 million Americans who either don’t have access or can’t afford broadband internet right now.” While other operators are focusing on 5G (which is not yet available), the MVNO hopes to address the connectivity needs of customers across the nation right now.

Both the service and hotspot device can be purchased at UNREAL Mobile’s website while supplies last. The good news is that you don’t have to be an UNREAL Mobile customer to get this service or hotspot device. The MVNO welcomes all customers regardless of their current cellular provider.

  1. You have to spend $146 up front to get the $8/month plan. That includes one year of service, $20 hotspot and $20 activation fee. Typical FreedomPop tactics. Then you get 2GB/month LTE mobile data with unlimited slow data.

    1. I did not see the activation fee but you're probably right. A lot is missing from the above article. I have to agree it's the typical freedompop trickery and here I thought Unreal would be a breath of fresh air.

    2. It is too bad these articles do not provide basic information. These plans are not attractive at these prices.

  2. its 2gb LTE data per month after that its 2g speed. And you know how the 2g speed will be ..!

  3. There are important details missing from this post. First only the first 1 GB is at high speed at the lowest plan, the one mentioned, and second there is a (reasonable) cost for the device. It is on Sprint so the low speed unlimited may not be usable.

    1. "Unlimited 2G" is like "All You Can Eat Brussels Sprouts".

    2. It is more like all you can eat algae, and you have to buy a year's supply before you can taste it.

    3. Its funny when you say unlimited in the article how attractive it looks and then you read the small print hidden on the website for the real facts. This deal smells worse than brussel sprouts.

    4. "Sprint: Free Soylent Green for One Year".

FreedimPoo/Unreal is like getting unlimited miles at a rental car agency. The catch is it to Yugo and the engine is missing. So you have to push it everywhere.

  5. Not unlike FP I hate going to their website and not being able to see any information without entering my Zip and email address but when you do get their these are their fees for the Franklin Unit selling for $19.99.
$8/month for 2GB ONLY, $20/month for 3GB lte and $30 for 5GB lte. Can you really do much of anything with 2GB service?

    1. Right... Having to give your email address in order to get basic info is a common scammer tactic.

    2. I always put in 90210 and [email protected]

    3. Totally agree with Anony 1:57p, absolutely no reason to need my email to visit a website just for basic info. The crap is seeping in from fp already.

  6. Sorry, there us a huge disconnect between "works wherever you are" and "Sprint MVNO"

  7. DEAD ON ARRIVAL. And Sprint to boot.

  8. I'm on Sprint proper, and during peak times full speed LTE isn't much to write home about. Then the unlimited 2G speed... useless.

  9. Even Verizon doesn't offer me full, reliable coverage a few miles outside the city, so there's no way Sprint could be any better.

I want better coverage before better prices.

  11. If you consider T-Mobile's prepaid Simple Choice mobile hotspot plan, this isn't really that good at all. For $10/mon, I get 2GB of 4G/LTE and unlimited 2G plus Music Freedom is included. So $2 more and I get a faster/better network and free music streaming.
