Cricket Wireless Unveils New Promotions for Fall 2018

In line with welcoming Fall, Cricket Wireless has unveiled three different promotions for those who want to get a good deal on their service.

For starters, the AT&T prepaid brand is offering the Samsung Galaxy S9 for $499. Instead of paying its full retail price of $749.99, you get to enjoy this device at a discount. The Galaxy S9 is discounted until October 7, 2018.

Another device Cricket is offering is the LG Fortune 2. But instead of a discount, you can get this device for free. Unlike the discount on the Galaxy S9, the free LG Fortune 2 promotion ends on January 10, 2019.

If you're interested in either device, you will have to activate service under a qualifying plan of at least $30 per month. This plan comes with unlimited calls, texts and picture messages across the U.S., and 2GB of high speed data.

Taxes and fees are applicable.

The third promotion unveiled by the prepaid brand is available for those who are interested in getting a group or family plan. The promotion offers 4 lines of unlimited data for $100/month. Data speed is limited to 3Mbps, video streaming at 1.5Mbps. After you use up 22GB per line per month, you may experience slower speeds during times of network congestion.

There is no end date on the 4 lines for $100/month promotion.

  1. Buying a flagship for Cricket is like buying a Ferrari just to sit in traffic.

You'll still look cooler than the other schmucks stuck in gridlock, but not even anywhere near as cool as the guy cruising down the highway in a souped up Civic, with all the windows down and DragonForce belting out lyrics over satellite radio.

That guy's going places, while you're sitting there on your unusable 3mbps connection and wasting your phone's potential.

The fact is, unless you're paying the premium for unlimited miles on the postpaid turnpike, there's just no sense in paying more than $250 for your phone.

    1. Couldn’t have said it better myself. Add bloatware and firmware lockdowns to add to the misery.

Not at all. The big difference on flagships is the camera. The camera on a phone is no worse on Cricket than on any other carrier.

"That guy's going places, while you're sitting there on your unusable 3mbps connection and wasting your phone's potential."

It's still pretty good. Cricket's 8 or 9 mbps is good enough to do anything. And it's far better than on Sprint which works hardly anywhere. On Sprint, that Ferrari is missing all 4 wheels.

It makes sense to pay more than $250 for your phone if you want a good camera. and there's nothing about Cricket that prevents you from taking advantage of that.

I always use BYOD with Cricket. No bloatware, no lockdowns, and no misery.

    3. Lol - that has to be the funniest and most spot-on analogy of Cricket Wireless I've heard. Way to go, man!

  2. The only real promotion is the S9 for $499 which is all it is worth. Cricket always has a free junk phone with port in and the 4 for $100 is a permanent plan.

  3. Can’t you just pop in an ATT prepaid sim instead of using Cricket and get full speed data?

  4. I just don't understand all these people buying iPhones and Galaxy phones and then taking them to Cricket. Their network is so slow. Video is slow. Sending text messages is slow. Budget service pairs with a budget phone.

  5. you are ALWAYS better off buying an unlocked phone, dirctly from manufactuer like moto, or via amazon, gear bst aliexpress. As long as it has usa/canada/mexico lte bands, you can use it. especially if you have a gsm carrier/towers, whether prepaid brand or T-Mobile or AT&T itself. Worst thing is to get Sprint/Virgin/Boost mobile , and 24 hours after you activate there is a herd of crapware they download onto your phone without your permision.

  6. Not as good as the last promotion - iPhones $200 off, Moto E5 (plus) Supra $12o with port-in .

  7. The Cricket LG Fotune 2 is not worth having at any price.
