Tello Giving Two Months of Free Service

Tello has made a name for itself as an affordable phone service provider operating under Sprint's networks. But every now and then, the MVNO out does itself with various promotions. Just recently, the Sprint MVNO announced a promotion where customers get two free months of Tello service.

Earlier today, the MVNO revealed that they are offering two free months of service to new Tello customers. Instead of paying $19 per month, new customers get to save on two months of service with Tello. All you have to do is use the promo code CHEAPSKATE upon checkout.

Once you have completed the purchase, you will be getting unlimited calls and texts along with 2GB of 4G LTE data per month. After the 2GB high data allotment is used up, you will be reverted to unlimited 2G data. The service also includes free tethering and free calls to Canada, Mexico, and China.

Signing up for this promotion will require a credit card. But you will be billed the regular rate on your third month of use. You can then decide to change your plan to get higher data allotment.

If you are interested in this offer, you will need to have an unlocked phone compatible with either Sprint or Verizon's network. You can also opt to buy one of the phones offered by Tello if you do not wish to port in an existing number.

This promotion ends on Friday, September 7, 2018.

    1. I might try it if they paid me too. Maybe.

  3. You can bring some Verizon devices to Tello, iPhones mostly. They are still a Sprint MVNO still as far as I can tell. The wording comes from the Cnet article.

  4. Per the FAQ section on Tello's website, Tello does not offer roaming.

If you need roaming, you might want to consider Twigby, another Sprint MVNO that switches seamlessly from Sprint to Verizon when you are off the Sprint network. Or, for a little more $, Boost's monthly plans also include 50 minutes of voice roaming on Verizon (most phones but not all).

Please note that both Twigby's and Boost's roaming is for voice and texts only, not data.
