Black Friday is one occasion that many individuals look forward to every year. In fact, there are plenty who hold off doing any shopping until this season starts. This is because with Black Friday deals around, there is no stopping the many different deals that are too good to miss out on.

Joining the bandwagon this time around is Verizon Wireless, who has just unveiled a new prepaid smartphone to its roster of devices.

The Orbic Wonder may not be able to compete with the likes of the top-of-the-line smartphones available today. But when it comes to value for money, it can easily fit into the list.

For starters, the Orbic Wonder comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with an Asahi Glass scratch-resistant screen. From within, the phone runs on a powerful Snapdragon 430 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. A microSD card slot expands the memory by up to 256GB.

Camera-wise, the Orbic Wonder has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual LED flash. In front, there is an 8-megapixel camera with wide-angle view and LED flash. The phone also includes a 3000mAh Li-Po battery with Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0. Other notable features include a fingerprint sensor, gyro, FM radio, and mobile hotspot. Upon its release, the phone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS.

The Orbic Wonder is currently available at Verizon's website for $99.99. Purchasing the device from this website will entitle you to a waived $35 activation fee.

Is this smartphone worth checking out?

  1. I like the option of a wide angle camera but I would rather go with the Verizon Prepaid Moto G6 Play (larger capacity battery and Android 8.0) which is occasionally on sale at various retailers for $100.

    1. I have asked for the $35 activation fee to be waived four times this year and each it was waived. I wouldn’t port over if I had to pay an activation fee.
