Select iPhone Models Now Supported by Spectrum Mobile's Bring Your Own Device

spectrum-mobile-iphone-byod
Spectrum Mobile is now available for bring your own device option.

The new feature, however, is currently limited to select iPhone models. This means that Android device owners will have to wait until the MVNO starts accepting these devices for switchers.

If you own one of the compatible iPhone models, you can bring your device and activate service.

Here is a list of the iPhone models that are currently supported by Spectrum Mobile:

  • Apple iPhone SE - supports Verizon models or unlocked from AT&T and T-Mobile
  • Apple iPhone 6S and 6S Plus - supports all carriers but may require unlocking before porting
  • Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus - supports Sprint (unlocked) and Verizon models
  • Apple iPhone 8 and 8 Plus - supports all carriers but may require unlocking before porting
  • Apple iPhone X - supports all carriers but may require unlocking before porting

As for the newer iPhone models (Xs, Xs Max, and Xr), these are not yet supported by the MVNO. But there is a big chance they could be supported for bring your own device soon.

  1. All Android phone owners don't have to wait. Just activate the Spectrum SIM in a supported iPhone and then swap it to their unlocked, Verizon LTE-compatible Android phone.
This also works with iPhones 5S, 6 and SE A1723 (which supports Verizon LTE bands 2 and 4 plus both CDMA bands). There is no reason why it would not work in the newest Verizon/unlocked CDMA-capable iPhones either.
