Verizon Prepaid Users Can Still Activate 3G Device Until April 2019

Verizon has extended the time it takes for users to to activate their 3G devices on prepaid.

The report comes from a tweet by a Verizon Prepaid master dealer and shared on HowardForums.

According to the tweet, Verizon has extended the time frame until April 30, 2019.

On HowardForums, users pointed out that Verizon could be preparing to drop CDMA before the year ends. And considering there are plenty of customer complaints regarding VoLTE reliability, this could very well be the case.

The new extension may apply to Verizon MVNOs as well.

Comment Page :
  1. If Verizon drops the legacy voice 1XX network and VoLTE has problems, then they will be inundated with complaints and Churn.

  2. 1x and 3G is still the superior network on Verizon. They cannot afford to turn it off yet. VoLTE still drops calls for me.

  3. I think they are updating the 1x and 3g networks inplace of just shutting it down. Coverage should improve for 4g and pending 5g signals.
