A few weeks ago, Motorola released its latest flagship smartphone, the Moto G7. Following its US release, the smartphone manufacturer is gearing up to unveil a new device called the Moto G7 Power.

The Moto G7 Power comes as a cheaper device. Upon launch, the Moto G7 was priced at $299.99. Meanwhile, the Moto G7 Power has a $249.99 price tag. Along with the cheaper price, the Moto G7 Power features lower specs compared to the flagship model.

Some of the specs of the Moto G7 Power include a 6.2-inch IPS display with a 720x1570 resolution. From within, the device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage, and with a microSD card slot for expandable memory.

There is a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with 4K video recording. In front, there is an 8-megapixel sensor with 1080p video. The phone also features a fingerprint scanner and a splash resistant frame.

Surprisingly for a phone that costs cheaper than the flagship model, Motorola has included a 5,000mAh built-in battery on the Moto G7 Power. The Moto G7, on the other hand, only comes with a 3,000mAh battery.

Originally, the Moto G7 Power sells for $249.99. But right now, Motorola is running a promotion on this device. You can save $50 on your purchase, thanks to Best Buy. Instead of the $249.99 price, you can pre-order the phone for $199.99. You will have to activate service under Verizon, AT&T or Sprint in order to get the phone at this discounted rate. This, however, will not affect the device's unlocked status.

As of this writing, Best Buy has not yet revealed when they will start accepting pre-orders for the device. But with a March 22nd release date, it could open pre-orders pretty soon.

  1. THe G lines is not the Motorola flagship line
The Moto's Z line is the flagship.

  2. Moto G phones are mainstream products. Moto X was their flagship line. It is inappropriate to describe the $249 Moto G Power as a flagship phone.

  3. Very disjointed that Motorola nixed Dolby Audio on the entire G7 line. I was ready to upgrade from the G6, but not worth it to me w/o Dolby Audio.

  4. Oops, looks like the G7 & G7 Plus DO in fact have Dolby Audio. Unfortunately battery life is mediocre on both of those, so that's a deal breaker.

  5. . . . . .and the unlocked G7 is missing bands 14, 29, 30 & 71 while the Play & Power versions have them. What were they thinking????
