Total Wireless Removes Hard Data Cap on One of Its Plans

Total Wireless customers have reason to celebrate today. The TracFone-owned brand has just announced that they have removed the hard data cap on one of its plans. It's not really a big thing to be ecstatic about, but hey, it's a start.

Customers under Total Wireless' $50 plan now have access to unlimited talk, text, and 25GB of 4G LTE data before it gets throttled to 2G data speeds. With auto-pay billing enabled, the plan is discounted to $47.50 per month.

Prior to today's change, customers under this plan had their data cut off once they have used up the allotted 25GB of data in a month. In order to get more data, customers had to purchase a data add-on card at $10 for 5GB of LTE data with data carryover. Although customers still had a chance of running out of high-speed data (and will most likely purchase the add-on card), they can continue using their device for basic tasks when they run out of data.

Total Wireless' other plans do not offer this change. It is only available on the $50 plan.

  1. Total runs on the Verizon network so this is good news.

  2. Oh wow! This is amazing. I've been a Total Wireless customer for more than a year. They have amazing service. No issues ever regarding signal or data speed. I am on the $35 plan which has 5G of data. Now I will definitely go for the $50 plan.
