Back in November, Google re-branded its MVNO service from Project Fi to Google Fi. Along with its re-branding, the company also added support for several other phone models. Now, it looks like iOS devices on Google Fi are getting more features.

With today's update, iPhone users can now enjoy visual voicemail on their devices. According to the announcement, subscribers can now receive voicemail as a text message. A transcript of the voicemail is displayed as a standard conversation thread under your number. The message includes the number, transcript (if available), length, and a reminder so that users could revert to their voicemail to hear the message once again.

The visual voicemail feature is now available as version 1.5 update on the Google Fi app. After you have updated your app, a fourth tab will be added on the bottom bar. Any unread messages will be counted on the top of the screen but you can provide names and notification permissions upon setup.

The new update also includes a list view, which includes basic information like name, date, and length. A preview of the transcript is also displayed on the screen. Once you tap on it, the full message will be expanded. You also have an option to hear the audio easily. Google Fi also added in some shortcuts to call back, reply via text, delete, or put on speaker.

Version 1.5 also includes new transitions, animations, and bug fixes.
